Interior designed spacious and light 120 m2 casita built over 4 floors with a large comfortable terrace for lounging in the heart of Tarifa's old town.

The incredible 'El Frances' and 'Lola' restaurants are minutes away. And Tarifa's local beach, Los Lances, and it's beach bars a 5 minute walk, with the kite surf beach bars / chiringuitos of Valdevaqueros a 10 minute drive.

The space
Entirely renovated (even the roof is new), this is a beautiful, generously proportioned, sunny house which, while equipped with all modern amenities, maintains its old Andalucian charm.

I'm an interior designer and creative director and share this home with my 6 year old son. Quirkily built over 4 floors, the house has been designed with comfort and simple elegance in mind.

At 120 m2, the house is a generous size for Tarifa - in renovating, I removed bedrooms to have additional living space. I have kept beds to two kings, with a single sofa bed in the sitting room, if required.

1st floor: polished concrete kitchen; 2nd floor: living and dining room, master bedroom and ensuite, 3rd floor: second bedroom / TV room and bathroom. All leading up to a large roof terrace with Weber gas BBQ with mini kitchen. Note: access to the terrace involves walking through the second bedroom.

There's ample storage, space for relaxing and entertaining (3 dining areas), and the kitchen is equipped with everything you could need: dishwasher, induction hob, coffee maker, kettle, eco water filter and microwave etc.

We really love the house and hope you do too.

Other things to note
PLEASE NOTE: There are open staircases.

Essentials we provide:
Shampoo / shower gel, Weber gas BBQ, water filter and coffee machine, kettle etc the list goes on. Please check breakdown included in listing.

Ceiling fans in the master bedroom. Plug in fan in the spare room. Although the sun is super hot, the clever design of this Andaluz house, combined with windy Tarifa, rarely call for AC.

Where you’ll be

Tarifa, Andalucía, Spain

Central location, right in the heart of Tarifa's Casco Historico / Old Town. Here are a few of my favourite restaurants and things to do:
- 10 seconds to El Frances restaurant (incredible food and value) and Los Melli; 30 secs to Lola (tuna Almadraba - a local speciality worthy of the hype).
- 2 minute walk to the infalible Anca Curro restaurant. Pork and aubergine scrambled eggs as you've never tasted. I don't say this lightly: Solomillo and Revuelos de berenjena (aubergine scrambled eggs). Tomate con roquefort works (refreshingly) well with the pork too.
- 1 minute walk to the shops and famous Tarifa designer boutiques: Zero Gravity, Bonjour, Boho, La Alpargateria, Mequieres.... Tarifa has 1 traffic light... and 6+ designer boutiques...!
- 5 minutes to the beach. And Waikiki beach bar.
- 3 minute walk to La Tarifeña bakery. Spanish cakes at their best. NB. Sunday afternoon queues are OTT.
- 10 minute drive to kite surf homes of Mistral, now Ion etc and sunning beaches of Valdevaqueros and Tangana (inc. gorgeous boho chic beachwear shop and the mud baths of Valdevaqueros - follow the grey crusty grey people.
- 5 min walk to Tarifa veg and fish market and fantastic local cornucopia shop (opposite), where you can get every-thing, including the best olives, cheese and jamon. Great for gifts! It's also the same price as the super market. La Saimaza coffee cheaper still!
- 5 min drive / 20 min walk to Mercadona supermarket. Jamon, anchovies in vinegar not to be missed!
- 20 min drive to Bolonia beach and extensive (!) Roman ruins - effectively an entire city, including remains of the 2000 year old high street.
- 48km to Vejer: The Tapas City. Spanish fusion in ancient whitewashed España. We even have a tapas tour map for you to refer to in the house.

My work: Creative director and interior designer

I’m a creative director and interior designer. After 20 years in London I moved to Tarifa and renovated a casita in the whitewashed old town. My 3 year old son and I now split our time between Tarifa (80%), London and the Scottish Highlands. I hope you enjoy our houses as much as we do.
