A responsible tourism lodge in gardens, rich in birds, butterflies, small mammals, and occasional leopard! “The Essence of Tranquillity” at the gateway to the Himalaya, having a panorama of 8,000m peaks – Dhaulagiri, Annapurna I and Manaslu spread before our terrace. Our mission is to give every guest as special experience of Nepal’s middle hills though skilled local guides, authentic Nepali food, and living in the shadow of the Himalaya. Room Rates for 2 guests include local taxes.
All rooms are in individual cottages (single or two storey) with kingsize beds or a kingsize and single bed. Operating more like a private home, our friendly, discreet staff have been with the lodge since its opening in 1998 by Sir Edmund Hillary and are adept in making every guest feel personally welcome and relaxed.
Our award-winning kitchen led by Head Cook, Lalu, provides home-style cookery, be it authentic Nepali dishes, or western cuisine and happily caters for guests with special dietary needs. Meals are table d'hote and vary daily with choices. Breakfast, lunch (including picnic lunches) and dinner are included in the rate.
We have additional rooms and child rates. Please send us a message.
We are independently audited for our responsible conservation tourism programmes and practices.
We are the ideal base for guests who want a rural locale, while being able to access Pokhara city for its lakeside attractions and adventure sports.
There are an exciting range of walks from an hour to full day hikes, all led by our expert local guides, for those who enjoy hiking but do not wish to trek in the classical Himalayan manner. The services of our guides are included in the room rate - extra charges are made for transport where needed to drop or pickup for a walk. Those walks straight out from the lodge are included in the room rate. Walks can focus on birds, flora and fauna, culture, or just plain exercise!
A range of yoga, meditation and massage therapies are available.
Lalu and his kitchen team are happy to offer a free introduction to Nepali Cookery (subject to kitchen workload).
In Pokhara, paragliding, golf, micro-light flights, zip-line and bungee are available (extra charges).
