Located in the woods with view over the lake Mälaren you can live in an off grid cabin life. Take a break from the city's hectic life, go back to nature and enjoy Sweden in an unique way. Check out @pinesandcones to get inspired

The space

This small house is with simple version of solar panel and no running water so you can have a simple yet comfortable life here. There is one main cabin, with a cooking stove and four beds, one double bed on the loft and two single beds in the main area. When the weather allows you can use the outdoor kitchen while sipping on a glas of wine on the porch. Next to the main cabin there is a smaller cabin with two beds and also an outhouse toilet.

Guest access

Nature, beautiful scenery, wildlife, books.
A few kilometers from the cabin you have the farm Äleby Gård where you can buy local game meat and in the summer vegetables harvested from the farm's green house.

Interaction with guests

As much or little as you want.

Other things to note

The cabin life is simple and for the ones that love nature, cooking and hanging on the porch it is the best experience. We love it, and hope that you do as well.
As it is an off grid cabin it is a bit different than an ordinary house with power and running water. There is a solar panel that provide with electricity for example your phone or other smaller devices. The water is stored in a few containers and when it runs out you get more from the lake. For drinking water we have a water purifier.

Free parking on premises

A simple and beautifully decorated cabin at a quiet, still and peaceful location on Lake Mälaren. We really enjoyed the off-the-grid week we had and spending some quality time in the nature. The cabin was really comfortable and would highly recommend this to anyone who wants to recharge from their busy everyday life! Thanks again!

It is a magic place. A place full of peace. Take your water from the lake and learn how much water is waisted at home. Heat the stove for your coffee and learn how much energy is needed. Enjoy the cozy cabin during cool nights. Hear the animals. Become happy. It is a wonderful place.

We had an amazing stay. Spent our honeymoon at Amelie's place. The cottage is a truly unique place to relax and get off the grid. You can enjoy silence, sunsets, lake-water baths and the giant window fronts. Some info that might be helpful: You NEED to have a car. Make sure, that - in case of a rental car - it is properly insured, as the road to the cabin is quite bumpy and rough :) Cooking is done on an iron fire place, simple but convienient. You can bake pizza, heat water for the shower (no running water...), make tea, coffee, etc. etc. As our hosts Amelie and Oskar have lived in the cabin themselves for quite a while, they have thought of many details for a relaxing life outdoors (outdoor shower, solar panels, a small boat, guitar, hammocks, ...). Both of them were super friendly and always responded immidiately. Really cute kid, by the way =) We'll definitely go again some time.

Amelie's cabin is magical. Perfectly secluded within the forest and with the lake a stone's throw away. The cabin includes everything you need to enjoy your back-to-basics trip in minimalist luxury.

The cabin was perfect and had everything we needed despite its remote location (the only thing to consider is there's no fridge but we managed fine without). It's in such a beautiful quiet forest, overlooking the lake making it the perfect place to switch off and enjoy nature. We loved eating outside, swimming in the lake, running, climbing, walking, outdoor showers and watching the wildlife. We definitely hope to be back.

A beautiful and very comfortable timber house far away in a magnificent nature. Absolut calmness and peace, and an unbelievable view over the lake and sunset. Every practical detail have been planned by adorable Amelie and Oscar. A precious place on earth.
