SEBEC LAKE, MAINE: Our log cabin sits on a rise with a grand view of the "big lake," 20 miles south of the Hundred Mile Wilderness of the Appalachian Trail. The granite waterfront is perfect for morning coffee & kayak launches (2 for your use); swim off the floating dock in the cleanest lake in Maine. The paths are scented with warm pine needles & blueberries, and as evening approaches, the wood thrushes begin to sing. Loons nest in our cove and will call all night long!

Donna and Dave's place is beautiful. Located in a quiet area on Sebac Lake, it's a great place to relax and enjoy time on the lake. It provides convenient access to the water for either swimming or paddling. I would definitely look to stay here again on a return trip to Northern …

Donna is a caring and considerate host. She anticipated many questions and possible situations in advance, and stayed in close touch every step of the way: as we planned in advance for our stay, as the arrival date got closer, and while we were driving up. She even reminded us wh…

We truly appreciated hosting Monica and her wonderful family. Monica and I corresponded frequently, especially because our cabin is a bit remote, and I wanted to be sure we had what they might need. I appreciated that Monica kept in touch along the journey, letting us know that they'd be delayed. Their dear dog was perfectly behaved (!) and our cabin and waterfront were left in perfect condition. Monica and Philip also left a lovely note, as well as a book and a bottle of good wine!

This place is truly wonderful and I am so grateful that Donna has chosen to share her home with guests. A little more than four hours from Boston (without traffic), the cabin is a bit remote, but all the more valuable for that. The lake is a magnificent, quieter and more peaceful…

Thank you, Ethan, for your generous review. I could tell, from your initial request and correspondence, that you and your family would be wonderful guests! Not only did you leave our cabin in PERFECT condition, you settled right in to lake-life, appreciating the beauty and simplicity of the Highland region. You rented our cabin seeking a stress-less week of peace and quiet for you and your family, and I'm so glad it worked out for all of you.

I don't want to tell you about how fabulous Donna's place is because it is a hidden gem, and well, if discovered, may be booked solid for year's to come to my great misfortune!! If you are looking for the quintessential Maine lake experience look no further. The lake is beautif…

Jennifer, you and Maria will ALWAYS have a place to stay at our cabin. We loved sharing it with you because you found the beauty in this rare, wild place. And you took care of our home as if you were good friends, not airbnb guests. So glad we connected in this serendipitous way.

Donna was a great host, making sure we had all questions answered before we left as well as giving us suggestions on places to go in the surrounding areas. The cabin was perfect for our family, who loved swimming, kayaking, fishing and relaxing all week. It's an ideal place to …

We love where we live in Maine because it's retained its sense of character and history (Dave & I write histories and historical fiction). When we travel, we look for places that are distinctive, beautiful, and clean, and our Airbnb guests are seeking the same! Without exception…
