Where you’ll be

Buckden, England, United Kingdom

Buckden is a heritage village on the Great North Road and has a number of amenities including pubs, two small supermarkets, a Chinese takeaway, one of the biggest dress shops in the country and Buckden Towers.

Buckden Towers, originally known as Buckden Palace, was an important residence belonging to the powerful Bishops of Lincoln. The first site at Buckden would have been built of wood. Around 1225 Bishop Hugh de Wells built a new house of stone. Today the Towers are a lovely Elizabethan complex of buildings that makes a wonderful sight next to the parish church next door.
