The Homestead was the perfect, peaceful place to spend time away with our family. It was comfortable and homey and had everything we needed and more. It is close to the waterfalls and hiking trails at DeSoto State Park as well as the cute shops in Fort Payne and Mentone. We would definitely stay here again.

Lynn provided a very calming and peaceful haven for my family who had to evacuate due to hurricane Irma. Everything was clean and cozy! Peaceful location nestled in the woods. We highly recommend Lynns beautiful space and we hope to stay there in the future! If your looking for relaxation, this is the place!

Lynn and Scott's house is beautiful. It offers gorgeous views and all the conveniences of home. The house is also very close to Little River Canyon and Desoto Falls Park. There is plenty of room to hang out with the family and have a great time. Would highly recommend.

Scott and Lynn are incredibly generous and accommodating hosts. We have stayed at Airbnb locations before and we have never seen such a well stocked place, both with the quantity and quality of supplies (eg, cooking utensils, cookware, dishware, detergents, etc). The other great thing is that The Homestead is personal and truly made us feel at home. Many other places have a very generic almost sterile feel to them but The Homestead is very warm/inviting - you feel like you're staying at a relatives home. The only issue we had was the lack of curtains or blinds in the bedrooms (main areas were totally fine). It left the rooms so light that the young kids' (3-8 years) sleep schedules were thrown off. The kids had difficulty falling asleep before 8:30-9:00 pm (normal bedtime is 7 pm) and they all woke up by 5:00-5:30 am (normal awake up is 6:30-7:00 am). That is not a criticism by any means, the adults loved the incredible views. If you are planning to stay here, just be aware of sunrise/sunset times during your trip if you have kids or anyone sensitive to light when sleeping. The Homestead was absolutely wonderful, I would recommend it to anyone! Scott and Lynn - thank you again for making our family reunion that much more special.
