Want to get away? Our cabin is a family friendly place where you will be able to wind down and let the cares of the world vanish. Sit out on the rockers of our large covered deck, enjoy your morning coffee. The cabin is single story living, bedroom/bathroom and deck area.

The space

The cabin can accommodate an "honest" 8 guests (real beds, not air mattresses or couch surfing) with 3 bedrooms (All King Beds in the bedrooms - plus bonus queen bed just off of the family room that serves as a lounging/reading area). ~Queen Bed is a bonus bed and is not in a bedroom~ We offer a large flat screen “Smart” television with DVD/Blu-Ray player, DirecTV and Wi-Fi. The Smart TV provides access to Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, HBO Now and other on-line streaming services with your subscription. Wi-Fi is Frontier Com DSL, so no limit on use like most satellite Wi-Fi offerings that you typically find in the mountains.

Fully equipped kitchen has a fridge w/ice maker, microwave, range/oven, crock-pot, griddle, electric skillet among the amenities plus a Gas Grill on the deck. All pots, pans, dishes and a large drop leaf table that can seat 8. There's even a high chair and booster seat for the baby or toddler. We are dog friendly and they are welcome (There is a non-refundable $50 pet fee for the first and the $25 for each additional - 3 dogs max) and the fee will be collected by AirBNB after booking.

Looking for a more active get-away, then don’t forget your hiking boots or golf clubs, there are two public golf courses that are less than 15 minutes away and Franklin/Macon County has 16 local water falls, world renown gem mining, with numerous biking and hiking trails including the Appalachian Trail and Bartram Trail along with many other trails.

Grocery shopping and restaurants are less than 5 miles down the road. A quick 15 minutes to downtown Franklin where you can find shopping, restaurants, entertainment and now two new locally owned Micro Brew Beer Pubs (love that Wayah Lager at Currahee Brewing Co.)

We truly believe that you will enjoy our cabin as it is family friendly, ultra-comfortable, clean and cozy with views to die for. Please be our guest.

Guest access

Guests have access to the cabin living area. The basement is off limits.

Interaction with guests

Guests can call me anytime. I also have a person who is local that can help with anything needed.

Other things to note

Pets: If you bring a pet, please have her/him bathed and treated for fleas/ticks just before your trip. You also will need to bring some blankets from home to lay on the furniture and bedspreads to protect them. Pets should be kept confined to the property, and pet waste should be removed from sight and from walking areas around the home. I have a shovel in the garage and you can scoop and toss pet waste in the ditch at the bottom of the driveway. There is a non-refundable pet fee of $50 for the first pet and $25 for each additional pet (3 max).

Phone Service: The cabin does not have a landline telephone. Verizon Cell service is full 4-5 bars strong. ATT is spotty and I am not sure about Sprint or T-Mobile (recent renter just told me that T-Mobile works) as I don't use them. I recommend downloading a Wi-Fi calling app like Whats App, Viber, Messenger or FaceTime.

• Please understand that although the cabin is located in the mountains, it sits in a neighborhood (even though you cannot see them), there are others living up on the mountain. We would ask that you please be courteous and keep noise to a normal level and if you could observe 9:00 PM as a quiet time cut-off. Loud music, shouting or other loud noises will “carry up” the mountain and destroy the peace and quiet.

- No smoking in the cabin. Evidence of smoking in cabin will result in forfeiture of deposit.

- No Landline telephone in the house. I can only state that the Verizon Network works (Full 5 bars) at the cabin as that is what I have. ATT (maybe), Sprint and T-Mobile - Just not sure. With the Wi-Fi, you can use a Wi-Fi calling app - Whats App, Viber, FaceTime, Messenger and the like.

- Owner intends to rent to family groups only. A family group is defined as parents, children, grandparents and extended family members vacationing together. All non-family groups, including unmarried young adults, high school or college students and other unrelated individuals traveling in groups, are prohibited. The principal Tenant(s) signing this Agreement must be at least twenty five (25) years of age.

-I have had several guests now leave numerous bags of trash in my garage, filling the main can and then leaving bags heaped up. Unfortunately there is no on-site trash collection. We ask that you take your trash to the nearby Macon County Trash Drop and Recycling location. (It is on the way to town) during your stay. Our cleaning crew will remove trash from your last day. Please put bagged trash in large can in the garage on the last day. Tenant agrees to keep the property, inside and out, reasonably clean and free from trash, clutter and debris. Tenant is responsible for stains on carpets. All trash must be bagged.

o (Mon.-Sat., 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m., Sun, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 pm)

You will pass the trash drop and recycling center nearly every day if you are heading to town and it is a drive thru facility and only takes a minute or two to stop and toss out your trash.

You must also acknowledge
Must climb stairs - 3 steps up to the Front Deck (which is level with the house).
Amenity limitations - Cabin has no land line phone. Cell service: Verizon (Excellent: Full Signal), ATT (Iffy), T-Mobile/Sprint (not sure).

Joe & Becky's place was perfect! Joe responded immediately and went above and beyond for anything that we needed. The views were amazing! The location was just far enough from town that we felt completely secluded yet only a 5-10min drive to Downtown Franklin. Our bedrooms had french doors that opened up to the deck where we ate breakfast every morning. A perfect getaway from the city.

We absolutely LOVED our stay at Joe & Becky's place! It was such a cozy and cool respite from the FL heat. The views were incredible and peaceful and I left a piece of my heart there. The cabin itself is well laid out and has plenty of room for everyone. The beds were super comfy and I slept really well which isn't an easy task. The location is great for lots of day trips and there is a lot to do. If you're looking for a peaceful getaway with gorgeous views to accommodate your family look no further! Communication with Joe was wonderful, he responded quickly to our many quick questions. Don't hesitate to book this awesome place!

The view is to die for. Great private peaceful location! Humming birds on the porch, a baby bear popped up onto the road Saturday PM. Three deer were eating grass in the front yard in the AM. Mountains in the back, deer running everywhere in our view. Hawks, birds, trees, clouds- this place was great. Foam beds were great for sleeping. Plenty of pillow choices. Nice decor, lots of seating in and outside. Easy check in, check out. Excellent communication. We really loved it!!

Response from Joe & Becky:
Tina, Thank you so much for staying with us. Sounds like you had a great time. One of the neighbors told us about the bear, but we had not seen the rascal. Also, good to hear the humming birds are back. Glad you were able to relax and recharge. My cleaning person said you left the place in great shape. You and your family will always be welcome back to stay at our cabin. Safe Travels.

The home was beautiful and the view was even better. Joe & Becky were great hosts, if I needed anything they responded within 30 minutes. The home is in the perfect location. Our favorite places we visited were, Patton Creek Recreation park across the highway...we could just chill in the creek or float down the creek. I would also recommend going to the sliding rock and looking glass falls (beautiful and FUN) Cullasaja Falls/trail, Dry Falls, Bridal Veil/Rainbow Falls. We also enjoyed mining for gems at Mason's Ruby & Sapphire Mine. As far as food, we mostly cooked in the well equipped kitchen, but did enjoy a few local restaurants, we loved El Charro Mexican, Lucio's Italian, the Gazebo Creekside Cafe & Fat Buddies (recommend the Ribeye) they were really yummy! This home was comfortable for 7 people for over a week and we hope to make this a yearly trip and stay here in the future.
