West gateway to the Shuswap Lakes, Chase has stores, restaurants, zipline, bowling, wading pool, beach, boat launch, splash & skate board parks, gym, golf, hiking. Located along Chase Creek, beautiful WEEPING WILLOWS has areas to barbecue, picnic, play & relax. The homey 1,700 sq. ft. lower level suite has own entry, full kitchen with breakfast items to get you started, large family room, TV, wifi, full bathroom, huge master bedroom plus 2 other sleeping areas, treadmill, games table, laundry.

The space
Quiet, family friendly Chase (population 2500) is situated in an incredibly beautiful setting at the west end of Little Shuswap Lake. Known for its hot, dry, sunny summers and mild winters, Chase borders the Trans Canada Highway half an hour west of Salmon Arm and half an hour east of Kamloops. It is just over 400 kilometers or 250 miles from Vancouver (three hours from Chilliwack via the Coquihalla Highway), and 564 kilometers (353 miles) from Calgary. It is described in more detail under "Neighbourhood Overview."

Our home is located close to all amenities, including the lake. The setting is peaceful and provides lots of privacy and quiet, other than the sound of trains passing by in the distance. The large yard is beautiful and therapeutic with a garden, several flower beds, graceful weeping willows following the creek, places to sit and be refreshed, and a barbecue dedicated for your use by the creekside picnic area. We have bocce and horseshoe sets available for your use, as well as a sand box and swing/slide set for younger ones. There is lots of room for children to run and play. (Just as you would at home and in any other new setting, please keep an eye on your children. You are responsible for their safety). There are also a number of nice walks that you can start from our place.

You will likely experience the suite as a bright, spacious, relaxing, comfortable, and practical "home away from home." If you are staying for a number of days, there is plenty of storage available so you can unpack. Take advantage of the full kitchen to prepare your meals, snacks, or pack lunches for your daily adventures exploring the Shuswap or Okanagan. For those travelling with children, we can set up a play pen if needed in the large bedroom, and there is lots of floor space throughout for children to play indoors during bad weather. As grandparents, we just happen to have a number of children's toys, books, puzzles, games, etc. that you are welcome to use. The "flex" room contains a double (full) size wall bed, as well as a swivel mini games table and treadmill.

FOOD: Your accommodation includes basic breakfast items for your first day, such as eggs, bread, yogourt, milk, & cereals. The kitchen is also stocked with basic condiments such as salt and pepper, ketchup, mustard, sugar, flour, tea and coffee. Chase has good grocery and convenience stores, a bakery, coffee shop, several restaurants, and liquor outlets.

HOUSEKEEPING: Linens, bedding, towels and tea towels are provided and will be laundered upon your departure.

Guest access
You have complete access to the over half an acre backyard, and are welcome to help yourself to any of the garden produce that is ready during your stay. (You may encounter one of us mowing lawns or tending to the garden and grounds from time to time, but we are very good at "staying out of the way.") As previously mentioned, there is a propane barbeque and propane fire bowl by the creekside picnic area for your use.

INDOORS: You will have full access to the living areas downstairs. (Please note: Occasionally, we need to retrieve items from our office or pantry, but never in a way that would intrude upon your stay).

PARKING: There is room for two vehicles on the right side of the driveway, as well as unsecured parking for a boat and trailer or smaller rv/camper on the gravel area to the left side of the driveway.
