Dear Juline, I am very glad you enjoyed your 4 day stay in Santorini. As you know this is one of the most expensive islands in Europe and I like to believe that we offer incomparable space, location, care and price for a very reasonable price. This is because we are not and we do NOT pretend to offer hotel accomodation or services. I am a teacher and I love to travel and respect all people and cultures. I have visited south east asia esp Singapour, Hong Kong, Taiwain, Macao etc tens of times and I know that airconditioning is used universally and systematically so I have always choosen hotel accomodation. In the Cyclades however we may have fantastic beaches, unforgetable landscapes, a warm welcome and unique food but we do not have illimited water or power. What we do have is the patience and care to answer 7 messages before your arrival and 6 messages after, to try and solve all your requests asap and answer all your questions about our island and our way of life. Concerning my request for clarification about who was staying at the flat we have unfortunately had people travelling in groups who have been less than honest about who is physically staying in the flat. This I must say was not at all your case so it was a simple request for information whilst respecting your privacy. Concerning our house rules which are really directions, advice and recommendations to make your stay as confortable and unforgettable as possible we feel it is better to be clear with our visitors before hand than to solve problems afterwards and thankfully we have had none in over 3 years of sharing our holiday home. The 'excessive use' mentioned in the information documents is simply someone going for a daily excursion and leaving the cooker or the airconditioning on or the taps open. I can honestly say that all of our visitors have been wonderful and correct thus no-one has been charged extra for utilities to date. All the very best for the future. Christos.
