We bought the Fly Fishing cabin in 2007, and restored the interior to be a comfortable place to stay while fly fishing the local rivers (our private frontage on the Big Sauble, the Pere Marquette, the Little Manistee, and the Pine are my favorites) and mountain biking the North Country Trail and Big M. Set back a long ways off the road, it is quiet, private, and a great place to listen to and enjoy the North woods.
The cabin is rustic but comfortable, with a propane stove to keep you warm, an equipped kitchen, and bathroom with shower. It also has a screened porch where you can sit at night and listen to the river.
We have a private setting, with 1000' of frontage on a Blue Ribbon Trout stream. There are cabins across the river, but sitting around the fire pit it feels like you have your own private woods. This is a great location to explore the North Country Trail (located just a few miles from the cabin). It has 45 miles of single-track open to mountain biking here, and the Big M trails, where the Lumberjack 100 is held, is just a short drive away.
Other things to note
If you want to enjoy a meal out Blossom's Restaurant and the Na-Tah-Ka Tavern are just down the road, and the town of Irons and the Dublin Store (with it's amazing jerky) are 20 minutes North.
Our driveway is a long two-track. If you have a fancy car or little clearance you may want to walk down the driveway first to see what it is like. There is parking for three cars at the cabin.

Hi! My wife and I live in Fairbanks, Alaska, but I grew up in Rockford, Michigan, camping all around Lake County and fishing the Pere Marquette river. I went to school at Michigan Tech and fell in love with spending time in quiet places, fishing hard rivers, and traveling the backcountry by bike.
