Perfect little cottage getaway located on Lake Simcoe just 1.5 hour north of Toronto. Clean & bright cottage with a modern feel will suit 1 or 2 couples. Sit back, unwind and enjoy the calming lake views from the cottage or the private lakeside deck
Enjoy a paddle down the tranquil waters of the Trent canal, a great way to connect with nature and de-stress.
For a peaceful getaway this cottage is an ideal retreat for those looking to escape the city, recharge and reconnect with great views!

The space
The cottage is a small 2 bedroom so it is perfect for 1 or 2 couples. (4 people max. occupancy) There is a combined living/dining room area with a lake view.
Please note that there is no wifi.

Guest access
Guests will have access to the entire cottage, garden shed and the private lakeside deck located directly across the road in front of the cottage. Guests are welcome to use all the amenities included in the cottage and the shed as long as our belongings are properly looked after and treated respectfully.

Other things to note
There is a small fire pit in the backyard. although we do not supply firewood. I will keep guests informed if there is a local fire ban in effect. This information is available on ramara.ca.

There is a propane BBQ on the deck at the back of the cottage. Propane and BBQ tools are provided, there also is a picnic bench in the backyard. An extra propane tank is in the shed, just in case.

The kitchen is small but well-equipped with everything you would need to prepare meals. Please note there is no dishwasher. There is a kettle, toaster, coffee machine and a Tassimo machine (discs not supplied). There are basic cooking supplies such as cooking oil, tin foil, dish soap, cleaning materials etc. as well as basic condiments.

This cottage is indirect lakefront which means the lake is situated directly in front of the cottage across a small road. Guests will have to cross the road to get to the lake. At the lakeshore, there is a private deck with stairs leading directly into the water.
The water is shallow at the shoreline and then very gradually gets deeper. There are smooth rocks at the shore line and then a sandy lake bottom as you venture into the lake. Water shoes are perfect as the rocks can be slippy on bare feet.

The shed in the back contains 2 kayaks and paddles for the canoe that guests are welcome to use. Please note it is quite an undertaking to use the kayaks and the canoe as they do have to be lifted up out of the water when not in use. We ask that guests only use the canoe and kayaks if they are familiar and confident with these types of activities. Lake Simcoe is a large body of water where the waves can pick up quickly so please use safe boating practices at all times. Life Jackets are provided.

I now charge a $50 cleaning fee due to the extra expense involved for intense cleaning and sterilizing due to the current pandemic. The expectation remains to leave the cottage in the condition it was found. Cleaning materials are supplied.

The Trent-Severn canal is a 3 min walk away - great fishing spot.

Hi, my name is Shirley. Originally from Yorkshire, UK and now enjoying country living in Ontario. I am a nature and animal lover whose favourite past times include kayaking and forest walks with my Jack Russell terrier. I recently discovered the serenity and calmness in just sitting and watching the lake - must be an age thing! I cant live without coffee or Corrie!
