The Modern Loft is an adventure-seeker's perfect home-base. Centrally located amidst Pemberton's pristine back-country access for mountain biking, hiking, touring & sledding, the loft is stylishly outfitted for relaxation between day trips. Not to mention it's only a gorgeous 25 minute drive to Whistler Village.
Whether you plan to work remotely and utilize the fast WIFI & comfortable work spaces or be outside enjoying the family-friendly, spacious property, you're certain to feel relaxed here.

The space
Previously a gallery space, the loft is beautifully lit and very spacious for all your gear.

Loft-living may not be for everyone on the day-to-day, but provides a fun break from the norm' during your mountain vacation. The king-sized bed is accessible only by ladder. Use of the loft bedroom is best suited for those who are comfortable with heights and can physically go up & down a ladder with confidence. The queen "bedroom" can be left open to the length of the space or enclosed by beautifully hand-crafted cedar barn doors.

The kitchenette is stocked with an electric double induction burner, large electric griddle, mini-fridge, electric kettle + Bodum + coffee grinder for morning coffee, toaster and all your essential cooking tools. There is NO oven or traditional stove top or microwave in the kitchenette. A small picnic-table-top BBQ is available for use on the lawn from May-September.

As you enter the loft, there is a cedar-planked wall outfitted for gear storage. Unfortunately, during spring/summer, our former bike storage shed is now needed to house all garbage & recycling bins to keep tempted black bears at bay. There are, however, options for safely storing and locking up of bikes (guests must bring their own locks and property owners are not responsible for security of bikes). Please inquire at time of booking to ensure bike storage expectations are aligned.

Guest access
Guests are welcome & encouraged to explore the property. It's an exceptional playground for your pup who is welcome everywhere but in the vegetable garden. Due to COVID-19, we're taking extra care and precaution with regards to cleanliness and disinfecting frequently touched surfaces in communal outdoor spaces. For this reason, physical distancing from guests outside your bubble at the Hayloft Barn is a must and use of provided sanitizers and disinfectants before and after visiting the space is encouraged and appreciated.

Other things to note
There is second private guest suite in the converted barn that may or may not be occupied by other guests. These units are completely separate with each their own private entrance. The only shared space is the parking area.

Well mannered dogs are allowed (up to two). Dog(s) are not to be left unattended for extended periods and arrangements should be made for them ahead of time if you plan to hit the mountain all day. Dog bowls, towels and a sleeping blanket are provided.

Occasionally, farm equipment is in use on the property (ie tractor, mower, tools, snow blower, etc). During the hot summer months, some property work must take place earlier in the morning or later evening while it's cool. We do our very best to not disturb guests and work in areas not used by guests at that time, but cannot always guarantee total silence when guests are enjoying the property. We always appreciate everyone's understanding so we can keep the property tip top for all!

Location

Pemberton, British Columbia, Canada

Our property is situated on the 'Fringe" of Pemberton Village. It's close enough to walk to town (about 20min walk; only a few mins drive), but far enough away to feel truly removed from any hustle or bustle.

The street is lined with a mix of modern country estates and character mountain farm homes. Many of the residences board horses or raise livestock.

Guests can walk about 10mins east or west of our property to reach the Lilooet River. Trail access to the Mackenzie Basin (mountain biking, hiking, horse back trails) is a mere 15min walk.

Hi there! I'm Kim, one-half of the host equation alongside my hubby, Adam. We're relatively new to this rural mountain life, having moved to Pemberton from Vancouver's north shore in 2016. Pemberton wasn't necessarily high on our radar for laying roots, but a rained out bike trip turned backseat tour of the area changed all of that. One peek down the driveway of our now-home and we were day dreaming fools. Views of Mt. Currie had us captivated from day one and continue to awe-inspire us around the clock. As we've settled in over the past year, we've come to love the slower pace of life and reconnecting to nature and the land. In his workshop, Adam's able to create and tinker on various wood' and mechanic projects, while I get to entertain a rotating door of family & friends and play (very) amateur cook in the kitchen - my favourite place to be! My professional background is in hospitality/guest relations, so I kind of just naturally love the experience of being a "Host". It's incredibly fun to see guests enjoy the property with their family & friends. Amidst all the craziness in the world, it has been so special to connect with people from every corner and share in our appreciation for the surroundings and simplicity of the moment. Come see what it's all about! Kim

During your stay
We live full-time on-site in a separate building. We strive to provide full privacy to guests however, we're often working in the gardens or on property projects and guests are likely to meet us along their way. We have a young Australian Shepard named Camper who absolutely adores guests. If you're not comfortable with dogs please let us know in advance or he will inevitably try to be your best friend.
