Quiet and comfortable private bedroom in a stylish, contemporary home. Set in a peaceful residential area surrounded by several diverse neighborhoods featuring excellent restaurants, boutique shopping, and entertaining nightlife. A block away from the East Lake Golf course, two miles from Agnes Scott Campus and just a few more miles away from Emory and downtown. Quick access to I-20, I-285, and the 75/85 Connector to Downtown or Midtown.
Two-story, three-bedroom house built in the 1950s. Two bedrooms are on the main level; the front bedroom (East Bedroom) is available in this listing. There is a bathroom on the main level, located between the two bedrooms. Check my profile to see the other room listed or to rent both.
The available bedroom comes furnished with the following:
- a queen-sized bed
- a twin-sized air mattress
- fold-out writing desk
- 27" TV with a Roku streaming box loaded with premium cable channels, Netflix, and Hulu.
- plenty of space to hang clothing
- The home is modern but true to its mid-century roots: cozy living spaces, hardwood floors, and a beautiful, double-sided gas fireplace.
- The kitchen is fully equipped with all your cooking needs and features restored vintage steel cabinets, poured concrete countertops, and handmade ceramic tiling.
- Artwork made by friends and family adorns the walls of the home.
- The backyard is large and features a full privacy fence, making it a green space to relax or entertain company.
When at home, I mostly keep to the master bedroom suite on the second floor.
Guests have access to the East bedroom, main floor bathroom, living room, dining area, kitchen, laundry facility, and backyard. Feel free to cook or entertain, just be aware of the other guests, perhaps invite them to join in and clean up after yourself.
Other things to note
Commonly home to one friendly, well-groomed young male cat who is free to come and go as he pleases.
Common sense abounds. Clean up your messes, use the provided coasters, maybe don’t hula-hoop in the shower. It is an old house, so please be aware that noise travels. You are welcome to use the kitchen and even entertain (in moderation). Please just return everything to its tidy state when you are finished.
Common sense abounds. Tidy up after yourself, don't track in unspeakable things on your shoes, coasters under sweaty glasses on wood surfaces, and attempt to not hula hoop while showering. It is an old house, so noise will travel so keep the TV at a sensible level, try to not shout into your phone. You are welcomed to use the kitchen (goodness knows I don't) and even entertain, moderately...we just ask that you return everything to its tidy state when you are finished.
When I am in Atlanta (and not at work), I’m okay with giving you as much or little interaction as you want. I am happy to recommend restaurants, farmers markets, and the bar scene, or provide any general information about the city. Feel free to ask.
Hello, I'm Jonathan. I'm a single gay man in my mid 30's. I was born and raised in a small farming community in Illinois. I moved to Atlanta about 12 years ago after college, and I bought my home in 2010. I work in the restaurant industry, with a focus on sustainable and local foodways practices. I travel a lot and enjoy playing Mr. Fix-it in my house.
