Despite our last minute booking, my friend and I were welcomed like family, our room was comfy cozy, and the breakfast lived up to it's fantastic reputation. I'll dream about the waffles and jam for weeks to come. The location is perfect for a stop along the Ring Road. Thanks Gréta (and family)!

We had a nice stay at the guesthouse of Gréta and Hildur. The new renovated room and the bathroom were very clean. Gréta made a great breakfast for us (also in the early morning at 6:30 a.m. as we wanted to go for a whale watching tour) with home-made bread, marmalade and waffles. She gave us a lot of tips for our trip to Húsavik and Reykjavik. It's highly recommended to stay at Grétas and Hildurs house. We loved it.

Greta's house was absolutely lovely! Well located on the Ring Road and easily in reach of Husavik and Akureyri. The room was nice and spacious for two people and well furnished. The bathroom was very tidy and clean. Breakfast was provided in the morning which was delicious! Greta had an array of homemade jams which went well with her homemade breads and waffles. Her carrot and orange marmalade was particularly delightful! Greta was very knowledgeable about the local area and provided us with advice for our trip ahead. We really enjoyed our stay at her house and highly recommend it!

Greta's place is super homey and she is so inviting! The bathroom and accommodations are clean and comfy. Very short drive from Nature baths and Myvtn Lake area. One of my favorites stays on my trip, and her breakfast is super good. Incredibly hospitable and interested in what we were doing next. Loved the room too. Definitely a recommended stay while traveling. A+

H5 Guesthouse is a home of a retired couple in Laugar. I (Greta) and my husband Konrad built the house and moved in 1988.
We have three children, one is living abroad with his family and two of them are living in the Reykjavík area with their families. Our daughter in law (Hildur) and I are going to be your hosts.
Hildur lives in Kópavogur with our son and two grandsons.
