Elias was great with messaging back quickly, our check in process went very smoothly and we appreciated all the great suggestions of places to go given by the Airbnb sitter who looked after us. As well Elias was very flexible with the checkout time which we appreciate. Overall our only critique would be that the ad seems a bit old and some of the things written/promised should be updated. As well there should not be such a high cleaning fee (50€) charged when the apartment was not kept to the high standard that one would expect. When we arrived there was no toilet paper in the bathroom, other than the remains of the previous guests, we had to buy our own. There was just a bit of shower gel and no soap in the bathroom. Many of the house light bulbs were missing, making the bathroom and kitchen a bit dark. At some point the fridge leaked, leaving water spill on the kitchen floor, cabinet doors were unopenable, and some bedsheets did not seemed washed. In general we think the house needs a little bit of maintenance and should be cleaned better before new guests arrive. In general the apartment is located in a great location if you are there for night life. Many bars and restaurants around. Since we were four guests, the price worked out very well for us and aside from the critiques the apartment was comfortable.

We stayed at the apartment for a month. It was a very bad experience for us. First day we came, the toilet was not working. Although she gave back one night rent but it was still a problem because we had to use public toilets until next day. Also at the time of our check in there was standing water on kitchen floor and toilet . The cleaning lady was cleaning the fridge. This was kind of annoying for us because when you check in you expect everything to be cleaned beforehand. I informed kenza about it and she did not believe in my words and i had to send her pictures to prove. The bedsheet didn't seem new or clean so i asked kenza if its clean because it was wrinkled and in response she reversed the argument by asking me if we iron our bedsheets at home; this was such a bad attitude because she is not supposed to make such comments on guests. She said she will send the cleaning lady again but she never did until last 10 days when i asked her again . I paid the cleaning lady for extra one hour because she was not able to clean in one hour for which she was paid by Kenza. The toilet was not shown in the pictures on airbnb and was not good at all . The light in the toilet was fused and on asking for new bulb, kenza said that we are too demanding and that i should get the bulb myself and she will pay me. This is not the kind of behaviour you expect from a host. The sofa was so dirty that we did not feel like sitting on it. Later Kenza gave us the throws for putting over the sofa. One day internet stopped working and kenza was not able to solve the problem until a day and a half which was quite a problem because being a student i had to work on my projects. I have been booking on Airbnb since long but i never encountered a host with this attitude. I will not recommend to book this place.

Response from Elias:
Maliha was the WORST guest I had in all my airbnb experience, or even including couchsurfing. Not a person to recommend, because she is not honest, she won't care of your place, she is very dirty and most of all : not in airbnb spirit. I explain my words : First she booked my place for one person and there was 2 persons! Secondly: she uses airbnb to find cool places and then she asks the hosts to rent her the place outside airbnb to not pay the airbnb fees. She did a booking request for 2,5 months on airbnb, when I accepted she contacted me to convince me to rent her my flat without airbnb in order to not pay the airbnb fees. I didn't want. Then she starts harass me to accept because she has no other solution. I empathized and the deal was to rent her one month on airbnb and to make her offer for the following month and half. at the end she told me she wants to pay in 3 times....she is TOO complicated and has no word. Third : before her check-in , the cleaning lady cleans as usual everything and washed and prepare the new sheets towels etc. And Maliha was upsets because the sheets were not ironed. Fourth : I always buy some basic food products for the guest ,I put them in the fridge. Normally the guests are happy by this nice touch. But Maliha did not like that the fridge was not totally emptyand called me about this and she wanted the cleaning lady to clean the fridge from the product. So I paid again the cleaning lady for this. And when the cleaning lady came, Maliha asked her to iron the sheets and her clothes.... Fifth : The first day, we had to stop the water from the flush during 3 hours , in order to install a better flush system and toilet for this long period rent. So I gave back the money of the first night to Maliha to be sure to keep a good relation. Then one day the wifi stop working a few hours in her computer (because of her) and she asked me to pay her bak this day rent :) I have other bad stories about my experience Maliha, but it's enough

Well,as i make decisions about staying in the flat or not looking at comments,so i should write a comment about flat as well.Firstly,Elias helped me a lot giving very useful information how to get the flat,he explained very detally everything! His friend who met us was also very kind person.Apartment is close to the metro Menilmontant.Area is safe. The flat is ideal for 4 people(2 in bed,2 in sofa). However,In order to get the famous places of Paris, you would need to take the metro, but it was ok for us.There are bars, markets, shops close to the flat. The flat was clean and had everything what you need, exept the French vine what i read in the description of the flat but could not find it in the flat, but it was not a problem as well. The minor comment is about other stuff like clothes ,shoes and etc. in the wardrobe was little bit uncomfortable, but anyway,we enjoyed staying in that flat. Thanks to Elias and his friend for hosting us!

We were a group of four, staying at Elias' apartment for 7 days. The flat is big enough to support 4 grownups and we never experienced any problems of technical nature like broken appliances or any other inconvenience. The flat was clean and even somewhat equipped with food which was unexpected and very nice. It's situated in a great neighborhood for evening and night activities as the surrounding area is full of bistros, cafes and cool little clubs that see some action pretty much every night. At the same time the street where the apartment is situated isn't that busy so there were never any noise issues. All the shops for necessities (supermarket, bakery etc.) are a couple of minutes' walk away. On the other hand, most of the tourist must-see stuff is not that close, so a metro budget must be calculated into the flat cost (ours was cca 20 EUR per person). But that shouldn't be seen as an inconvenience IMO. Paris is a living demonstration of a particular (and very seductive) philosophy of life, based around great food, better friends and a lot of social interaction. And if you're looking to discover Paris from that standpoint then I can't think of a better base than this particular neighborhood. To conclude, we had a lot of fun in Paris, the flat served our needs perfectly and we definitely recommend Elias as a host (all his recommendations we tried turned out to be spot on).

Elias was a great host. His apartment is clean and comfortable. The street is quiet by day and comes alive on a Saturday night, but the apartment remains pretty quiet despite the noise in the street. Elias met us when we arrived a bit early, let us drop our stuff off, and recommended a great place for lunch just down the street. He also stocked the kitchen with lots of choices for breakfast—including eggs and fresh bread—and put out a bottle of wine and glasses. He pays attention to the little details, which makes for a nice welcome. The apartment is located close to the Menilmontant Metro and is a quick walk to the Marais. I definitely recommend this apartment if you want to stay in a vibrant neighborhood but removed from the tourist madness.
