Bunny’s is located in a 2013 Heritage Award winning 1840 alley house renovation that is a 15 minute walk to downtown Baltimore, beside Little Italy and in Historic Fells Point. Easy walking distance to over 100 bars, restaurants and 4 blocks from the water. This block of Dallas street is securely gated at one end. Note: There are two top of the line REI bikes for rent by my guests.
Featured as a Dream Home in Baltimore’s Sunday Sun Paper, this 1840 alley house has received a labor of love from top to bottom by its builder-owner. The 12x10 available guest room includes two comfortable chairs, small mahogany cart for tea etc., a pull out desk surface, 19th cent. mahogany dresser and antique coat tree. A mini split system unit cools and heats the guest room , wifi throughout house, a second floor washer & dryer is available, bathroom is next to your room with a German made sprayer for rinsing. The 1840 stair way is narrow (circa 1840), but comes with a hand crafted wrought iron rail that curves up with you as you go. (If you are unsteady on your feet, please take note.). The house has the feel of historic Fells Point without being stuck in the past.
The room is tight when two are staying after the bed is pulled out into a double, but partners who make a good team can manage well.
I enjoy cooking so I have a fully equipped kitchen, which opens to the back yard. You are welcome to cook and store things in my refrigerator as long our mutual plans coordinate. Living room area has a couch, reading chair and Smart TV for online programs. A wireless Sonos system delivers music throughout most of the house.
Let me know if you want to order up breakfast. I specialize in great pancakes or waffles and locally made granola.
Public Transportation: 3 min walk to Charm City Circulator stop which is a free hybrid bus system within the city. We are on multiple public bus lines. One block from Zip Car access. You can take the MARC train from Camden Yards or Penn Station to DC for $7 one way on the weekdays. We are 2-3 miles away from both train stations.
I am retired from the restaurant/food business (Beagles Ice Cream Parlor and Fells Point Cheese & Coffee) and real estate sales; all of which were located in Fells Point.
Bunny is my cat.
The guest room, the common areas of the house, and the back yard which has seating.
A hand made wrought iron railing curves up the steps which makes a perfect hold-to as you go up the narrow stairs that are original to the house. For a few guests this will appear challenging and for some of those, would be.
Interaction with guests
I live in the house along with my cat. I do enjoy meeting new people and enjoy a good conversation.
Other things to note
The bathrooms are shared, but I "always" give my guests priority and am sensitive to their schedule.
Pick up after yourself in the common areas. If you break it, you are responsible for fixing it. If you need something, please tell me.
