This charming cabin has a unique, private location on a cliff by the sea, and offers a stunning near 180 degree sea view and a terrace. Its special atmosphere is enhanced by its rural location amidst farmland and wild nature, while you will find Bergen city centre only 30 mins. away. Unwind and get close to each other and the elements of nature, without wifi or TV. Pastures w/ sheep and hens just off the property. You will experience privacy, calm and rural nature at "The Cliff".
The cabin is situated by itself, at a cliff surrounded by a farm and pastures, while steep rocks plunge into the sea towards the western and southern sides. You will have access to your own private pier and a cozy boathouse loft with sofa and chairs. Outside the cabin there is a large, private terrace deck, with a charming alcove, perfect for barbecuing and enjoying the long sunsets of summer with only nature in sight. A boat w/ outboard motor may be rented.
The cabin is both modern and simple. It has certain facilities, such as hot and cold water, shower and a water closet, electric heating, a stove and a fridge. You will also find a heating fan (convertible to A/C), a washing machine and a freezer. On the other hand, there is no wifi or TV, and you are strongly advised to bring your own drinking water.
As you may see from the pictures, the cabin's interior style is typical for the traditional norwegian cabin, with an eclectic mix of old and new, partly personal, partly influenced by trend. Together, this mix creates a homely, cozy atmosphere we norwegians like to name "kos". You will quickly give in to its charm!
Interaction with guests
We are almost always availiable for you, as we are living and working on the farm surrounding The Cliff. Our English capabilities are limited, so we might sometimes consult others if you have very intricate questions, but we will always help out.
Other things to note
The tap water in the cabin is "roof water", not meant for drinking. Also, please use water with care, as the water source is limited.
The Cliff is exactly this; a steep and rocky place where eventual children should be watched closely. Its steep slopes are only partly fenced, and the area is not secure for small children to roam alone!
Arriving at the site, you will walk for 3-4 minutes through pasture and farmland, partly without paths. The soil might be wet and partly muddy, depending on the weather, and sheep grass in this area (they are not hostile, but mostly shy). Please use footwear according to this, and also bags/backpacks rather than suitcases...
The farm by "The Cliff" is run by us all year, and occasionally you will see and hear us mowing hay with the tractor and do other work on the farm. However, you are secluded from this in your dialy life at the cabin, as only "the back walls" face the farmland.
Welcome to "The Cliff"!
