It’s said that ravens mate for life-And so Two Ravens was built with all kinds of love for all kinds of people in mind. An easy 10 minutes from the town of Golden, our completely unique, elegant, extremely romantic, custom built, all season yurt (winter is actually our favourite time at Two Ravens-so cozy!) and attached shower house combines beautiful modernity in a lovely, forested pastoral setting. Private but close to all amenities, we're certain you'll want to come stay more than once.

The space
** Special note! We are following Airbnb’s cleaning protocol guidelines meticulously! Using antibacterial products to thoroughly clean between guests. Two Ravens is self check in and about 300 metres away from our place facing the opposite direction. We’re big on our privacy as well as yours so it’s the perfect place to retreat to in these unusual times. Placed at the base of Moberly Mountain. Two Ravens yurt shares the forest with vocal sawhet owls, grouse, pileated woodpeckers and ravens among other birds. Deer, elk as well as bears, wolves and cougars also make it home but never fear our superhero protector, Iggy Pup, keeps them far away! A full deck with super comfortable outdoor chairs make spending time outside in your surroundings so magical. Also, as a full time potter and pottery instructor at the College of the Rockies I hope you enjoy drinking and eating from your hand made vessels. Our loving brainchild, Two Ravens holds a special place in our hearts and we know it will in yours as well.

You are completely self contained and don't ever need to really interact with us if that is your preference (We don’t take that personally, ha!) But should you come with a pet-You are welcome to roam the property on the same level as the yurt. If your pet is well socialized and behaved, our dog would love to meet him or her. NOTE!! Two Ravens is heated via a woodstove in the winter that is not gated and has an open kitchen area. For this reason-It’s really an adult space and not suited to children.

Other things to note
*A note about MOUNTAIN WIFI! We are so lucky to have wifi in a remote yurt but It is not the same as the city (anywhere in Golden-whether in town or just out of it like Two Ravens) For the most part, the wifi works well with the ability to use the internet or watch Netflix...but sometimes it does fluctuate or glitch out. We do not recommend coming to the town of Golden at all if you have important, internet focussed work to do. But we are still so proud of the fact that two ravens is fairly wifi friendly in the middle of nowhere! 🙌😊

Neighbourhood highlights

Our land is 5.7 acres. We do share a driveway but our house is far away enough that you never need see us. Golden BC is a wonderful, friendly town with an inordinate amount of excellent dining establishments. I recommend Eleven22 Restaurant for elegant, affordable creative dining set in a beautiful heritage home. Reposados for amazing Mexican (so good! And the margaritas....ridiculous!) The Golden Taps and The Wolf's Den pour excellent drinks and don't miss popping into Whitetooth Brewery for a tasting of their amazing beer! It's incredible! For evening fun, Golden has a very active musical community and party scene. There is always something great going on for people of all stripes and ages so please ask me when you're here. Inquire about more recommendations for food, entertainment and outdoor activities! I have tons!

A former urbanite, I chose to make my home in the Mountains of BC with my gorgeous husband, Justin, my hilarious daughter, Isla, my appropriately named cat, sneakers, and my sweet dog, Mr. Iggy Pup. I live primarily for great books, big laughs, making pottery, writing humourous pieces, other art of all kinds, music of almost all genres, cooking amazing meals (both at home and professionally), going dancing, yoga, trail running and big mountain snowboarding. I am known as an outgoing introvert (yes, that's a thing) in that I LOVE to meet new people and socialize but really value my alone time and that of others. For that reason I make a great host, in that I can give guests whatever they need: a few laughs over a nice glass or total and complete privacy. As an artist I am sensitive and great at reading the needs of others. My husband and I are very fun, adventurous people but we are also very meticulous and design focused, having already built our own timber frame straw bale house as well as the yurt. We know that guests will appreciate the level of cleanliness and creative attention to detail that Two Ravens has going for it. And we are so excited to share this incredible labour of love with the world.
