The space

Welcome to the Cuban countryside. In our room you will feel elements from outside while resting comfortably in your bed and listening to the roosters greet the day. Roberto, Odalys, their two children, Alejandro (19), Amanda (12) and their dog, Merengue are looking forward to giving you a warm experience in rural Cuba.

Odaly’s worked for many years in a paladar as a chef, but decided to now open up her home to tourists and share her culinary talents with them in her house. Guests will be able to try many (organic) traditional criolla dishes made from the house’s garden or local suppliers. In the garden they grow: tomatoes, mangos, spinach, cucumber, bananas, anis, mint, pepper, cabbage and beans. If you are interested in helping or learning about gardening, you are welcome to help us. The family loves the cultural exchange that goes on between them and their visitors and is looking forward to learning more with their new guests!

The Hotel Jazmines, where you will find internet and a stunning view of the valley, is just a 5 minute walk from the house. The neighborhood is very calm and you can walk wherever you like without any problem.

There are plenty of things to do from horseback riding, walking tours, visiting tobacco farms, to visiting coffee plantations. We offer the possibility of renting bikes during your stay for a small fee (we have 2 adult and 1 child bike).

Coming in a group of 4? The house next door belongs to Roberto’s sister who also rents out a room to visitors and it would be very easy to combine meals/activities.

Roberto and Odalys hope you will allow them the opportunity to give you some wonderful memories of their family and of Cuba!

Roberto's casa was one of the highlights of our trips to Cuba. Prior to arriving, Elle was extremely helpful in directions and information. She is very responsive and organized in which she sent PDFs to print our prior to our trip with everything we needed to know. Being in the countryside of Vinales, it was a bit intimidating walking around with horses and animals along the ride locating the house but the map she provided made it easy to find and all the local neighbors were really helpful when we stopped to ask. As soon as we arrived to Roberto's home, he greeted us with so much warmth and hospitality. The place was small but very comfortable and clean. I had the best night sleep here during our entire stay in Cuba even compared to luxury hotels. Odalys his wife makes the best meals. We stayed up chatting with them even though our spanish is not very good. They were extremely kind and generous and we will definitely remember them and their lovely little home.

Roberto and Odalys' place was an awesome experience. I really liked staying in Los Jazmines, which is roughly 4km outside the center of Vinales. Roberto and Odalys' home is very cozy, and the room where I stayed was great. It had a good sized bed, air conditioning, a fan, and a nice large bathroom with a private shower. They cooked 3 breakfasts, 2 lunches and 3 dinners for me and each meal was fantastic, easily the best food I ate in Cuba. They use fruits and vegetables from their garden and everything was quite fresh. They're both incredibly welcoming and made me feel right at home, showing me around their home and showing me around the garden and backyard. Their family members live right next door and everyone is always hanging out together. They helped me book all my excursions (horseback riding through the valley, the cave of santo tomas, riding around the town in a car to see the different sites like the mural, etc.), and everything was a ton of fun. They're more than happy to chat and spend time with their guests, as we spent a bunch of time over the course of three days just sitting on the front porch. After taking a stroll through the center of Vinales, it seemed like most other casas were stacked right on top of each other, with a bunch of tourists walking around, so I was happy to be staying in a quieter area. I would highly recommend this place!

My experience at Roberto's Casa was one of my favorite Air B&B stays. Roberto and Odaly's are kind and gracious hosts who immediately made me feel welcome and a part of their family. Their house is immaculate and my room and bathroom were comfortable, clean and nicely decorated (towels were nicely rolled up on my bed with flowers). Roberto and Odalys take great pride in making sure their guests feel at home and have everything they need. They offered me several delicious fruit juices throughout my stay and were always available to answer my questions and assist me with your reservations. They helped set up a tour of The Valley on horse ride with a guide, which I really enjoyed and highly recommend doing. Odalys prepared two scrumptious dinners and breakfasts for me - way better than any good you can find at the local restaurants, especially since most of the good is natural and coming directly from their garden! Downtown Viñales is just a 10 min cab ride. The town is so full of tourists I was happy to be staying in a quieter more quaint part of town! I highly recommend this home for anyone wanting a peaceful place to get away from the stresses of City life.

Great little casa in Viñales Valley - a 5 cuc taxi ride from town. Secluded spot but just five mins walk to Hotel Jazmines if you need internet. Our hosts were great - even with the language barrier. Any time we needed a translator they would fetch a neighbour to help out! The stars at night were unbelievable and the food was great.

This place was awesome! The family is so helpful and friendly. The food was some of the best I ate in Cuba and I loved the location, just enough outside of the city that I could relax but close enough to Los Jaxmines that I could use the pool, wifi and enjoy the best views of the valley. I 100% recommend this place to anyone traveling in Vinales!

Odalys, Roberto, Alejandro, and Amanda's casa was quite simply the best experience in airbnb we have ever had. Their beautiful (extended) family's small community (grandmother and aunts etc. Live in three neighboring homes) and shared farm were peaceful, warm, and welcoming. It was a refreshing change of pace from the more touristy areas; we are so glad we stayed here rather than in the center of Vinales. Our arrival process was incredibly smooth due to the clear and detailed information sent to us ahead of tim by Elle and it was super easy (and inexpensive) to set up tours and meals with Odalys. They were happy to let us go adventure on our own or sit on the porch and chat with them whenever we felt like it. Alejandro have us a cool tour of the farm and odalys cooked us the best meal we had in all our ten days in Cuba with ingredients from it. The whole extended family even took great care of us when we were sick from something we ate in Havana and refused to charge us for the home remedies that got us feeling "fuerte" again. We didn't want to leave!
