The Cottage accommodated a family of four extremely well, was very clean and well equipped and welcoming. The views across to the moor were beautiful at sunrise and the proximity to Brentor, Dartmoor and Tavistock were the original reason for booking. If we had been staying in the summer a garden rather than a outside seating area may be consideration, but with with Moor on the doorstep definitely not an essential feature.

This was a brilliant property for us for the 6 nights we were there. Yes it is a small cottage and on the face of it might seem a little tight for a family of four, but it worked brilliantly for us with two girls of 14 and 12. It is exactly as it says in the description. The sitting room, bedrooms and the bathroom are really nicely decorated and very comfortable - the bathroom is much bigger than expected and worked brilliantly for 3 ladies!!! The dining room and kitchen could do with a little TLC and maybe need to look at the slight damp smell there, but this is almost expected of such an old property. With North Cornwall 50 minutes away and South Devon just over an hour away it is a great spot for exploring the region. The Castle pub is brilliant for food and Cholwell Riding stables brilliant if riding is your thing! Would we consider coming back - yes for sure as it is good value for money as a base to explore everything the area has to offer!

Briar cottage is a great location to explore Dartmoor. The cottage has all you need, is very comfortable and functional. We really enjoyed our stay. We were also very lucky with the weather, which helps. I would highly recommend it for people who want to do walks in this part of the Moor as it's stunning! Thank you.

We had a lovely stay in this cozy cottage, it had everything we needed and it was lovely to have a bit of outside space to sit and watch bats flying over at dusk and see the stars. Check in was nice and easy and we found the cottage after parking at the war memorial (plenty of space) and a quick stroll around the village.
