Other things to note

A. If you land in Leonardo da Vinci (Fiumicino) or Ciampino Airport, we can book a direct transfer for you. Our trusted driver will wait for you at the arrivals (inside the airport) and drive you straight to our place in a comfortable Mercedes Class E (or a van if you need more space). It will be cheaper than a taxi and you will pay him cash once you get to our apartment. We do NOT recommend you to take the "Leonardo Express" train from the airport for two reasons: 1) it is not faster than a car and 2) each ticket to Termini Station will cost you EUR 14 (one-way), which makes as expensive as the car for 3 people but way less comfortable. You can think about it if you are traveling alone or with another person. If you are a party of 3 people, it makes no sense. B. If you come from Termini Station (the main train station in Rome) you can take bus #90 for 2 stops and get down at "Porta Pia" bus stop. Alternatively you can take a taxi (a 5 minutes that will cost you about EUR 10, including baggage and train station surcharges) or take a walk (about 15 minutes). C. If you will drive to our place, please note there is a 24/7 secure indoor car park only 100 meters (or 110 yards) away. It will cost you about EUR 30 per day. Alternatively you can park off the street (white is free, blue will cost you about EUR 1.50 per hour)

The apartment is exactly as described, both in terms of location and as it looks in the pictures. Licinia and Francesco could not have been more welcoming and accommodating, especially at the start of the trip, when we had a very long delay at the UK airport and ended up arriving at the apartment well past midnight. Communications were great and Francesco was there to meet us and check us in as promised - still with a smile on his face - even though it was nearly 1am! The apartment itself was exactly as in the pictures, really clean and fresh and - even though the neighbourhood bars and restaurants were still buzzing when we arrived - you could not hear any noise after entering the inner block where the apartment was located, The bars and restaurants are all fantastic - both in terms of quality and price. We ate out almost every night and mostly within the neighbourhood. The pizzerias all do take-away service and we're probably never going to eat another Pizza Hut pizza again! There is a fantastic indoor food market selling meats, fruit and vegetables, at the end of the street with a small outdoor market, most mornings, selling a variety of things from clothes and shoes to household goods - really great for a bargain. There are a couple of small supermarkets less than 100m from the apartment, one of which is also open on a Sunday morning (when most other stores are shut). This is great for fresh milk, and other "essentials" when you run out. The apartment is not THAT far out of the centre of Rome but, when we were there, the temperatures were hitting 40+ degrees during the day and it was just too hot to walk (incidentally, the air-con in the apartment was FANTASTIC - I don't know how we would have slept without it!) The location of the apartment is brilliant for public transport - again very close to bus stops that will take you to most of the best bits of Rome - buses going one way to the Vatican City, one way to Villa Borghese and another to the Colosseum and the historic bits. The buses are frequent and cheap and there are a number of Tabbachi (tobacconist) shops that sell bus tickets, very close to the apartment, plus the automatic ticket machines. Overall, our lasting memory is of how friendly and relaxed everyone in the area was - from the stall-holders in the market to the bars and restaurant waiters (totally recommend Bella Napoli and Disco Volant restaurants, which are across the road and outside the front door) for the food and friendliness. One of the most memorable holidays we've ever had!
