Want a relaxing, country getaway? Mayfair Cottage is the perfect place for nature lovers, whether you want a quiet retreat, family vacation, or romantic escape. Visit the farm animals, shop for local goods in our farm store, unwind, and watch the sunset over Mt. Monadnock. Mayfair Farm is nestled in the hills of Southern New Hampshire, five minutes from the historic village of Harrisville and less than two hours north of Boston.

The space
Our family farm, Mayfair Farm, is situated off a dirt road on 70 acres in bucolic Harrisville, New Hampshire, and offers a one-of-a-kind rural experience. Explore our orchard and fields, take our canoe or kayak out for a paddle, or spend some time with our sheep, pigs, and friendly sheep dog, Thelma. Mayfair Cottage is the perfect place to unwind after an afternoon of hiking or lake swimming.

While we pride ourselves on slow living, we offer comfortable, modern accommodations, including free Wi-Fi, a washer/dryer, and dishwasher. Our fully-equipped kitchen is outfitted with a good range of cookware, toaster, coffee grinder and coffee pot and microwave. If you need to borrow anything specific, just ask Sarah.

For cooks and food lovers, our farm store is fully stocked with farm-raised meat, maple syrup, eggs, homemade freezer meals ready to heat for your dinner, and more. In July raspberries are plentiful and in September apples are on the trees.

The deck overlooking the yard and hoop house is a perfect spot for morning coffee or a nightcap under the stars (and yes, you really can see the Milky Way from our farm!).

Our cottage has an open floor plan with three bedrooms and two baths and is furnished with quality mattresses and linens. Between guests the linen and towels are changed and the cottage is cleaned. If you are staying longer and would like to book an additional cleaning, we're happy to arrange.

Our downstairs, master suite includes a king bed, and both upstairs bedrooms feature queen-sized mattresses. We provide towels, soap, shampoo, conditioner, a hair blow-dryer, etc.

We Offer a Range of Services for Groups and Events

During your stay
Mayfair is a working farm where our family lives. Our own house is nearby on the property, and you will undoubtedly see Craig on the tractor, our children, Cal and Fiona playing, or Sarah tending the garden or restocking the farm store on any given day. Occasionally locals will also stop by the farm store for self-service shopping. New Hampshire is a peaceful, beautiful place, but there may be occasional noise from farm machinery or vehicles, in addition to the soothing sounds of the frogs and crickets on summer nights. Our livestock guard dog Thelma occasionally barks when protecting her flock of sheep.

We do host events on the farm, including weddings and farm dinners. If you would like to join a dinner on the farm, contact Sarah to inquire about options.
