[Steph and John and kids are currently traveling . Our awesome co-hosts Alana and Dan will be here].

We are respectful and casual, responsible, friendly, optimistic and very active creative professionals in the New York "scene", which as you may be aware is quite large. Alana is a private chef and caterer. We have friends over for dinner occasionally, although lately we have been slammed with work and socializing has been minimal. But in general we are extroverted by nature, and friends are sometimes dropping by.

ABOUT THE NEIGHBORHOOD:
One of the best hoods in all of NYC, period. The best of the best, all around us!
Fine restaurants/nightlife/biking/parks/water taxi/subway are all nearby.

Our building was one of the original artist loft-style warehouse conversions in Williamsburg. It has since been brought up to code , but retains everything that makes living here unique, fun, and special.

Guest access

Guests can utilize the entire apt common areas, kitchen, living room, laundry, etc. There are lounge chairs for the roof. There is no curfew.

Interaction with guests

Guests may interact with hosts as much or as little as desired. We are friendly and outgoing and very knowledgable of NYC. As New Yorkers, we also respect privacy and the need for "alone time."

Absolutely wonderful hosts. Everyone in that household is so friendly, down to the children and cats! Amazingly adorable kids, which helps occupy time and act as a stress reliever. John, Steph, and their friend Alana had so many suggestions on what to do and are very knowledgeable about New York living. The area was great; very safe neighbourhood and super close to nightlife/NYC. Thank you again, I will definitely be back!!!

My stay in here was great! The bedroom is cozy and fell like home. The subway is about 10 minutes walk, you can also rent the citi bike to ride through the bridge, or take the ferry to go to Manhattan. There are also many cafe and bars to hang out. I would definitely stay here again the next time I go to New York.

Our two night stay with the J.D. and his family was wonderful. The place is exactly like the photos: open, clean and tidy. They were welcoming and helped us with restaurants and general directions. The building was remodeled recently so the apartments are comfortable. Definitively recommended!

I had a short stay here. I met Alana and she was very nice. It's close to many awesome bars and restaurants. The only drawback is the trains passing all night long (which is fine if you're not a light sleeper). Overall it's an amazing place

This is a handsome private room that opens onto a splendid common area. The bathroom is shared, and can be a bit busy in the morning, but Alana generously offered me use of the kitchen fridge, and the access to the rooftop is splendid. There are a few bars and promising restaurants, and a good grocery store, in the immediate area, and the heart of hipster Williamsburg is about a 10-minute walk north. I would also recommend walking the Williamsburg Bridge: at sunset, it offers some great views!

Cool couple in our 30s (Steph) and 40s (JD). Creative professionals: filmmaker/musician and dancer/choreographer. We like to cook and drink wine and read as well. We are stable, responsible, respectful and fun-loving, and also very busy. When we don't work, we are having fun biking, cooking, exploring, traveling, eating out, seeing movies, and seeing shows. She works in the hotel industry and knows about taking care of guests. He is from the south where manners are important. Basically, you'll be treated as a good friend here and we would expect the same!
