Come enjoy our spacious guest suite in the lovely neighborhood of Allied Gardens. With a private bathroom, key code exterior access, and plenty of space for up to four, we can also accommodate travelers with small children. Our location is ideal for those looking for a space close to Kaiser Permanente and SDSU. We are a short, 15-20 minute drive from downtown, La Jolla, and many beaches and parks throughout San Diego.
Our guest suite is the largest bedroom in the house! With light from three different sides, the room is very bright, yet private. The room was recently renovated, with new paint, a remote-controlled ceiling fan, and black-out curtain window treatments. The suite includes a dining table, ideal for meals and work needs, as well as a flat screen TV with a Roku and DVD player. There is plenty of storage space in the dresser and full-sized closet. Since the bedroom is separated from the main house by a bathroom and laundry room, sound does not travel between the spaces.
Guests have their own private exterior access with a keycode (no keys to exchange or keep track of!), and through the suite you have your own bathroom. Through the bathroom is a shared laundry room, where guests have their own mini-fridge, full-sized microwave, and coffee maker, with complimentary coffee and tea.
Interaction with guests
You can make your stay as interactive as you like. We love sharing information about San Diego, from favorite restaurants to tips about some of SD's most popular attractions. If you prefer more privacy, the exterior access, door code, and separate space can make your stay hotel-like.
Other things to note
One of our favorite features of our home is our Little Free Library. Check out the rotating collection in our LFL, or leave a vacation read behind and know someone else will enjoy it.

I am a doctoral student and stay-at-home mom. Before all that, I have benefited from the generosity of host families from around the world! I have lived and stayed with others in Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, and Scotland. I definitely got my hospitality gift from my mom, who is one of the best cooks and most generous women I know! Following in her footsteps, we have hosted friends new and old in our home from Germany and Brazil, plus many from across the United States. As a family, my husband and I enjoy playing board games, hosting others at our home, discovering all the free things to do around San Diego, spending lots of time with extended family, and traveling, when we can! We would love to share our beautiful city with you, which we have truly loved calling home for the past five years!
