Super central comfortable flat 1 bed flat; top floor of 18th c .Georgian townhouse, few doors down from Benjamin Franklin's house. Charing Cross Station & Embankment tube 2 mins away. Stones throw from Trafalgar Square & the river, 10 minutes walk to the Palace of Westminster & Buckingham Palace . No lift, good for the heart. Perfect for one, a couple.

The space

Our 1st guests have loved it & said it more than big enough. High quality place: separate kitchen, living room and bedroom with a very comfortable high quality King size bed, also a really great new sofa bed in the living room. Very comfortable for tourists, visiting business person, a couple with a child or at a push two (we have a spare mattress). Could accomodate two couples but bit of a squeeze. All mod cons, a folding desk, fab bathroom, lovely shower, decent internet, netflix on new tv.

Guest access

The whole flat! It's not big but more than big enough. Enter the front door, into the entrance hall and it's a short hike up the stairs but it's always best to be on the top. If I was an estate agent I'd call it a luxury penthouses - in reality it's a very nice top floor flat. There's no outside space but it's very close to the beautiful Embankment Gardens for a picnic on a warm day.

Interaction with guests

On arrival and local if needed

Other things to note

Much quieter than being in middle of Covent Garden. If you're after a decent comfortable flat for a couple and perhaps a child or two - perhaps another grown up or even two at a squeeze you'll be pushed to do better.

The location was incredible- like staying at Disneyland and being able to go back and have a quick nap to continue on. So much to do and see, all at the doorstep. Benjamin Franklin and Herman Melville both lived in that block of apartments- which in itself was so neat! Apartment was clean, all the amenities, two pubs down below but not able to hear from the room. Cozy and lovely- nick was wonderfuly helpful. Incase you decide to rent a car (which staying IN London, that would be a poor choice) there is no parking nearby.

Being passionate about historic buildings as I am, I can always tell immediately when a place has a good feel about it and Nicholas's apartment had it in spades! We travelled from the depths of Cornwall and are unfamiliar with the bright lights of London, so it provided us with immediate sanctuary from the bustle beyond. However, as many others have said (and I'll leave the details to them, as our stay was sadly very brief), it is in such a fabulous location, that we soon bravely ventured back out for a walk across the bridge, marvelled at all the twinkling lights and enjoyed some excellent street food at the Winter Market on the other side. Our first chance to feel festive this year and it felt magical:-)! Nicholas was the perfect host and his prompt communication and flexibility made all the difference to us, as we had no idea how long it would take us to reach him from Gatwick. Sadly, I didn't win the HE Angel Award I had been shortlisted for (the reason for our visit), but I was well prepared for a fabulous night out, thanks to the amazing shower and all those mirrors (I hadn't decided what to wear so, typically, brought all the options with me)! We were so close to the Palace Theatre and Groucho Club, that we were easily able to walk there and back - which was incredible! What a location!!!! We wouldn't change a thing about Nicholas's place! We were warm, extremely comfortable, very much at home and so reluctant to leave! We would absolutely love to return for a longer stay and the opportunity to explore more one day .....

Nicholas was a great and generous host who answers every question promptly. The apartment is two minutes from Trafalgar Sq, the National Gallery and The Strand. Six minutes from SoHo and Covent Garden. The apartment is well equipped, beyond the description. The bathroom is very clean and new and the shower is lovely and a modern surprise. The bedroom is large and the living room is spacious and beautifully appointed. Three narrow and steep flights of stairs lead to this lovely apartment.

Had an amazing stay at Nicks place. Apartment is very clean and tidy and fully equipped with everything needed for a long stay. The location is outstanding, walking distance to lots of great sightseeing spots, restaurants, bars, supermarkets and a one minute walk to two underground stations. I would definitely stay again. Highly recommended.

Ideal location. Just a 2 or 3 minute walk to Embankment and Charing Cross tube stations or the ferry service to Greenwich. Tesco was close by as well. Kitchen was well supplied with anything you might need. My first airbnd experience was a very good one.
