Welcome to Holmevann - a unique experience for groups of trekkers, skiers and people with a love for the outdoors. Remotely located, yet offering a very comfortable experience in the midst of the wild, two hours and a walk from Oslo. This is a place where every adventure starts in the wild!

Wood, electricity, kerosene and propane is included. We have good beds and warm duvets. Transport by snowmobile possible in the wintertime (depending on snow conditions).

The space
There is no place like this for rent in this part of Norway - most other cabins are located where the forest ends, but our cabin is in a reserve where nothing new is built. That is why we only have four neigbouring in a radius of 2 kilometers! Still, half a kilometer away you will find prepared cross country tracks in the wintertime, and there's a wide array of possibilities for enjoying the mountains in every direction.

Guest access
Everything is open for business - except my liquour ;-) We have some basic food items, such as flour, sugar, salt, pepper, and some spices. Ask us for specifics - there's no need to bring the whole array of kitchen supplies!

Other things to note
You need to bring your own bed linens and towels, as the closest washing machine is 3 km away. We do have a shower though, though you'll need to pre-heat the water in buckets :)

We have a separate home page where you will find additional tips and information for getting there covering almost every potential situation.

You are practically all by yourself, and will rarely see any activity other than dots in the distance during your stay. For longer trips you have Haglebu or Høgevarde (daytrip), where you can get something to eat and drink before returning. In the other end you have Fiskeløysingen, an informal place where they have the greatest waffles (Feb-April), about half an hour from the cabin. Gråfjell is a great trip of about two-three hours in total. You find two maps covering the area.

Med-techie that spends far too little time at his cabin after having two toddlers.
