We had a great stay. Thank goodness for the AC as there was a heat wave when we were there. The view is amazing and we sat on the balcony every night. It is about 25-30 min drive to the Louvre, Notre Dame etc, but there were great summer restaurants that are along the Seine that we enjoyed. Overall a great, large flat with a great view!
Wonderful, spacy apparment in the 5th floor with a gorgeous view over the Seine. Just across the river there's the Paris-Bercy-Arena (was there to cover the world hockey Championships). The Gare de Lyon is a 15 min walk away. Just around the corner there's a metro-Station (Quai de la gare) which brings ya directly to the tour Eiffel. A 10 min walk away you're at the Gare D'Austerlitz, where the Metro and the RER brings you everywhere around Paris. So you're not in the middle of things, but it's no problem to reach all the hotspots of Paris. In the same building there's one of those typical Cafés (Chez Lili et Marcel), just around the corner there's a nice Little bakery. Across the street you can also find a small supermarket. Not a cheap place, but it's worth the Money if you're looking for a comfy place for your (longer) stay in Paris.
That was a good experience living here. The host waited us and showed us around. Except the first night wifi password was wrong, everything is perfect. But the host came to fix it the next day and keep caring. The house was just the same as what was introduced on web. The area is the 13th zone, near the 5th zone. Not violent as what the famous movie described. There are a nice restaurant and a bread store at the street corner. You can get to mall, super market, metro within 5 minute. Although it is a little bit far from the city center, we think the distance is acceptable. Most of time we take Uber to everywhere. It is cheaper than Taxi. That was also the advise from the host. The house is on the river side, facing the Seine. The view is fabulous. If the host could add a washing drier and a hair drier, that would be better.
Our host Sacha made us feel welcomed and answered our questions with good information regarding directions to the apartment from CDG airport as well as some suggestions regarding some good restaurants in Paris. He was prompt in meeting us at the apartment for check in and oriented us to the apartment. The listing of the apartment was fairly accurate with the exception of the second bathroom. There is 1 full bath, another room with just a shower and sink and a 3rd room near the front door entrance that has a toilet and a sink. The apartment was not the cleanest. It had dirty dishes in the dish washer and a dirty pan in the oven. The refrigerator and freezer had food in it that should have been thrown out. The kitchen as well as the entire apartments cleanliness overall did not meet our expectation, especially when we pay a cleaning fee. We realize that a person lives there except for her vacationing time, but the apartment would benefit from some closet space without personal belonging in it. The neighborhood was good with the metro station a block away, a convenient shopping market nearby, a nice restaurant on the corner, and a beautiful view of the Seine River. Overall the apartment was nice, but just needed a good cleaning to make one feel at home.
We were welcomed early since the apartment had not been rented the previous night. Sasha helped set up the wi-fi and explained everything. The apartment is on the 5th floor of a very lovely old building. There is a small lift. The view of the Seine was lovely..fun to watch the river traffic. There was a grocery very near, a bakery on the lower floor of the building, a taxi stand across the street, and a restaurant on the ground floor. Also a pharmacy next door...we made use of it. The croissants were the best every from the bakery. One of our group had mobility issues so we used taxis a lot. It is a long walk from the major Paris sights but that did not pose a problem for us. The owner of the apartment is a lover of modern art which abounds in the apartment. Kitchen was more than adequate but small, of course.
