Our planned accommodations for our second week in Kassel fell through and we needed a place in a hurry, so we were very grateful to Hendrik for making his place available with less than 24 hours' notice. His apartment is accurately described (I think it says 2 bedrooms; it's actually 1, but the living room can serve as an extra bedroom), modern, and comfortable. The large-ish living room has deep, comfortable couches, a TV, and a dining table that could seat 8 people. The bathroom is nice. We appreciated that Hendrik made room in the cabinets for us; he also left room in the refrigerator. The kitchen is well-stocked, in need of just a few things to make it perfect: corkscrew, can opener, something to make coffee with (actually, we bought a filter holder and left it there, so future guests will have a way to make coffee). The bedroom is a decent size and the bed is comfortable, and Hendrik cleared out half the closet for us. He was very responsive when we had questions or needed a few things (the afore-mentioned corkscrew, extra towels, extra hangers). It was great to have use of the basement washing machine (2 flights down). The building is well-situated on one of Kassel's main thoroughfares, very close to several tram lines, Rewe supermarket, restaurants, apotekes, and shops. We didn't hear a lot of street noise in the front (living room), and the bedroom looks out over an expanse of yard, and was quiet. There's an elevator in the building, but the apartment is just one easy flight up. We'd definitely recommend Hendrik's apartment and would be happy to stay there again.
