A small semi-detached house located in the east-end Beach approximately 20-25 minutes fro the downtown core. Walkout to back deck and private backyard from the main floor. Second floor is newly renovated with a spa-like washroom with heated floors in cooler weather. A very comfortable, relaxed home within walking distance to shopping, lake, boardwalk, parks, movie theatre, walking and bike trails, pubs and restaurants. Easy access to public transportation.

The space

Open concept on the main floor with walkout to back deck and backyard. Newly renovated second floor with comfy/cozy private accommodation (single bed). Sofa bed has a real Beautyrest mattress. A place to hang your clothes and your hat while you explore Toronto. One person per booking please.

Guest access

Guests are free to relax on the back deck or in the backyard and are welcome to make themselves at home. High speed internet is available. Laundry is available for an additional fee. I am a photojournalist and work in the music business so there is a drum kit, keyboards and acoustic guitar available for guests that are musically inclined.

I'm here most of the time and will be here to greet guests to ensure they are settled in. Access arrangements (i.e. a key) will be made on guest-by-guest basis and will be dependent on schedules (mine and the guest's).

Toiletries such as shampoo soap, toothpaste, etc. are not provided. Guests must supply their own.

Please let me know if you have any food allergies or particular food aversions.

Inquiries welcome for extended stay.

Pat is a wonderful host and her home could be right out of "Better Homes" Magazine. Small room but cozy. Pull-out bed is good for a single person but not full bedroom type of bed. Overall a great experience. Ideal for a business trip like mine.

Excellent location outside of the downtown core. Take advantage of Pat's offer to cook breakfast - it was great.

Pat treats her place and guests as a real bed and breakfast which is awesome, though it is her home. She was very willing to field all of my questions prior to and after booking, which helped a lot. Her place is ideal for a single person as its a single bed that rolls out of a couch, but it was comfortable cozy. There is one bathroom which is very clean and modern and she provides towels and linens, unlike many other airbnb places. Her house is a good 45 minutes via bus to the center of downtown, but it's a very easy and pleasant ride and she's close to the bus stop. She made breakfast for me every morning (delicious) and accommodated my vegan diet. She made fresh muffins too! We had some very nice chats about Toronto, the local music scene, etc, but only when I asked (i.e. She gave me plenty of space so it was a nice balance). It felt more like staying with a friend due to her very hospitable and helpful way and the pleasant accommodations. Toronto is an awesome city but my staying at Pat's place made it 100% better of an experience. Best airbnb experience so far!

Response from Pat:
Downtown core is usually no more than 20-30 minutes away. Depends on time of day (rush hour(s)) and of course, construction season which is in high gear at the moment. Streetcars will be back on duty by end of September.

I stayed 2 nights at Pat's. She was very welcoming and friendly. We had some good conversations. She was very flexible with my check in and check out time. Her house is nice, clean and cozy with a great bathroom. I stayed in a little room with a single bed. Pat's breakfasts were delicious (fresh fruits, blueberry pancakes, bacon...). The house is about 25-30min away by bus to downtown with a bus stop just at the corner of the street. I really enjoyed staying there and would certainly stay again if I get the chance to go back to Toronto.
