We chose the bunk barn as an alternative to camping in bad weather. Dafydd phoned me before the trip with very useful information for our arrival. The bunk barn was warm and dry and the photos are accurate. Unfortunately the beds are very uncomfortable as is the seating area, relaxing becomes difficult at this point.

Dafydd could not be there on the day we were staying but he absolutely made sure everything was accessible for us.

Dafydd was really accommodating when booking and communicated back with me very quickly. My group was unable to bring towels with us because we were a backpacking group and Dafydd so kindly provided those for us. Upon arrival, late at night, we were greeted with a warm fire, a cup of tea, and a good conversation. The hostel was great to get out into nature and away from the craziness of the modern world. It was only 2 miles away from the Pony Path of Cadair Idris and the walk to that path was beautiful. We were also right up the road from a bus stop (although be aware of the bus time tables) and 3-4 miles away from the town. The neighbors were also really sweat and helpful people. It was a picturesque area and we enjoyed our stay a lot.

This is a standard 1960's or 70's hostel I think. Situated in a beautiful location in a beautiful area, the entrance could be very tight for a big vehicle. Good value if you need some basic accommodation for a group for a night or 2 but not for anyone into luxury...

A very basic place for the travellers and not suitable for friends and family looking for a moderate stay.

The location was great for us and our activities. It's a 50 minute drive to Snowden. The place was better than expected and we had all our essentials and necessities.
