There are regular bus services from the nearby villages to Newry, Belfast and Dublin city.

A 15 minute drive will take you to the picturesque Silent Valley or the Blue Flag Cranfield beach.

Rostrevor, located 3 miles away, is the inspiration for CS Lewis. Author of `The Chronicles of Narnia' that began with `The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe', was inspired by the Mourne landscape. As a young boy, Lewis often holidayed in Rostrevor and is reported to have written a letter to his brother saying: “That part of Rostrevor which overlooks Carlingford Lough is my idea of Narnia.”

Rostrevor Biking Track is also located 3 miles away and believed by many to be the top biking track in Ireland. Guest have said it's a fantastic biking track and really well organised.
Rostrevor's Fiddlers Green Festival during the month of July offers free outdoor ceilis, an open-air stage, artists from Ireland and all over the world, art exhibitions, a full children's programme, a music programme for the older teens, guided walks, and the ever-popular Literary pub crawl.
Kilbroney Vintage Car Show takes place in the month of June in Kilbroney Park, Rostrevor. This is a spectacular show of every type of vintage cars, lorries, buses, public service and agriculture vehicles. The display of gleaming and colourful vehicles is a pleasurable sight.
Warrenpoint’s Blues on the Bay, annual jazz festival held in May, attracts many big name artists. This annual event has hosted artists such as Van Morrison, Chicago’s Big Dog Mercer and Hungary’s harmonica maestro Jumpin’ Matt Pribojszki.
For Game of Thrones fans, Leitrim Lodge is situated to the back of Reid’s Hall. Here they filmed Season 3 Episode 2 where Bran and Rickon Stark escape from Theon Greyjoy and the Ironborn at Winterfell. It is a 5 minute drive away or a gentle hike across the mountain to the back of Reid’s Hall.
Tollymore Forest is a 15 minute drive away. It was the first state forest park in Northern Ireland, established in 1955 and covering an area of 1600 acres.
The Forest appeared in the first season of Game of Thrones as the lands around Winterfell when Ned Stark comes across the orphaned direwolves - the symbol of House Stark - and finds there are as many pups as there are Stark children
Castle Ward is a 35 minute drive from Reid’s Hall and overlooks Strangford Lough. This 18th century mansion house is a National Trust property with a beautiful walled garden and woodland. Castle Ward appeared in Game of Thrones season one as the iconic Winterfell - home of the House Stark.

I am a silversmith who loves the tranquillity and beauty of the Mourne Mountains. As a maker it provides me with endless inspiration for design ideas. I am also a very keen gardener and try to be self sustainable by growing my own fruit and vegetables. I find gardening very relaxing and destressing. My favourite place to visit is Norway which is not unlike Reid's Hall. I enjoy meeting people and are looking forward to sharing this special place with others.
