We loved everything about this property!!! The location was perfect to the main center, the grocery, the harbor. Price was unbeatable too. We will stay here if we go to Bar Harbor again. Will recommend to anybody who is headed that way.

We had a truly wonderful stay at 3 Higgins Terrace! The apartment was perfect for us - the pictures don't do it justice! Carol has also stocked the apartment with everything one would want and need for a one week stay. The location also is unbeatable - it's a block away from the main town center - and a 15 minute drive to Acadia. Carol and Jim were also exceptional hosts - our car battery went dead mid trip and carol and Jim helped us get it jump started without even a hesitation. We will gladly stay here again during our next trip to Acadia.

We had a fantastic stay at Huckleberry Suite! It was a getaway for 3 (myself and my parents), and the one bedroom plus the sofa bed made for a very comfortable stay. The place was stocked with all the kitchen appliances we needed to make breakfast each morning, and we even made dinner one night. The other two nights we enjoyed the quick walk to the downtown shops and restaurants. Each morning it was a very quick drive into Acadia National Park to explore. I highly recommend Huckleberry Suite and can't wait to return!

Carol and Jim's place is clean and well stocked. The location is central and within walking distance to all shops in bar harbor and very close driving distance to Acadia national park. We had a great stay and highly recommend this place when visiting this area.

What a perfect location! Close to restaurants and shops but on a quiet neighborhood street. Everything was very clean and new. The bed was extremely comfortable and my daughters said the futon bed was comfortable as well. The decor was stylish and fitting to the location (a priority for me). I will definitely book this place again next time visiting Bar Harbor.

Carol And Jim User ProfileCarol And Jim is a superhost.

We have lived in Bar Harbor for 40 years because it is so easy to access the ocean for sailing, Acadia National Park for hiking and cross country skiing, and the community for enrichment and entertainment. In our younger years, we enjoyed backpacking trips in Colorado with our children. We bonded, as a family, during long cross country car trips to various national parks and we, minus the “kids,” continue to enjoy visiting B&Bs and car camping as we have travel around the U.S.
When not traveling, Jim has spent his time renovating the 1904 cul-de-sac on which we live. He built the duplex that Huckleberry is in a couple of years ago because one of the original buildings was beyond renovation and needed to be taken down. Carol was a teacher in the local school for 25 years. We have provided, and continue to provide affordable housing for our community on our little side street. Now, in the “retirement years,” we enjoy meeting new people and look forward to hosting a variety of guests this season in our Huckleberry Suite weekly rental.
