We have lived in Bar Harbor for 40 years because it is so easy to access the ocean for sailing, Acadia National Park for hiking and cross country skiing, and the community for enrichment and entertainment. In our younger years, we enjoyed backpacking trips in Colorado with our children. We bonded, as a family, during long cross country car trips to various national parks and we, minus the “kids,” continue to enjoy visiting B&Bs and car camping as we have travel around the U.S.
When not traveling, Jim has spent his time renovating the 1904 cul-de-sac on which we live. He built the duplex that Huckleberry is in a couple of years ago because one of the original buildings was beyond renovation and needed to be taken down. Carol was a teacher in the local school for 25 years. We have provided, and continue to provide affordable housing for our community on our little side street. Now, in the “retirement years,” we enjoy meeting new people and look forward to hosting a variety of guests this season in our Huckleberry Suite weekly rental.
