Excellent location in the gorgeous, historic Westside area of Longmont. This home--built and maintained since the 40s--is an oasis, centrally located within Longmont and Northeast Colorado, with easy reach of Denver, Boulder, Loveland, Estes Park, Lyons and Fort Collins. Walk to parks in any direction and downtown Longmont's corridor of restaurants, shopping and entertainment.

The space

This home is situated in the heart of Historic Westside, Longmont. Built in the 40s and decorated tastefully, this is a relaxed, peaceful environment you’re sure to enjoy. Queen size (memory foam) bed and rollaway single bed, fully equipped kitchen and meditation space both inside and outside. Sheets and mattress pad are hypoallergenic and I use cleaning products without chemicals. There's also a running air purifier rotating in the upper floor living space. *Please note there is not a microwave in the kitchen but there is a toaster oven.

Guest access

Aside from your bedroom, the living room and dining room are nearly exclusively yours for your stay. The bathroom will be yours exclusively. You’re free to use the fully equipped kitchen. Although there isn’t a television, there is fiber internet and a solid book collection, and a hammock and places to meditate.

Interaction with guests

Relaxed, limited. I tend to adapt pretty easily to what people need.

Other things to note

Extra amenities: Turn table and records, humidifier, curling iron, heating pad, yoga mat, essential oil diffuser, telescope for star and planet gazing.

Small animals and trained, well-behaved pets (without shedding issues) allowed with a $10 per night fee.

Some recommendations of scenic drives and things to do in the area:

In Longmont: Longmont Museum, Dougherty Museum (weekends), Downtown Longmont (Main Street), Brewpub tour on the Brewhop

In Boulder: Dushanbe Tea House, Pearl Street Mall (pedestrian), Leanin' Tree Museum of Western Art, Celestial SeasoningsTea Tour (it's free, and all the tea you can drink), float down Boulder creek in an inner tube

Eldorado Springs pool (filled with spring water)

In the mountains:

Scenic drive: Take U.S. 287 to Loveland. Turn west onto U.S. 34 to Drake. From Drake meander around to Estes Park. Take the Peak to Peak past Allenspark, Colorado 7, and down the South St. Vrain.

Wild Basin in Allenspark.

Brainard Lake, make sure you go early to get parking. Lake Isabel is relatively easy and so beautiful. Then head to Nederland, ride the Carousel of Happiness, have pizza at Crosscut Pizzeria.

If you go up to Estes Park via Highway 7 through St. Vrain Canyon early enough, you could stop in Allenspark at Mountain Meadow Cafe for a wonderful breakfast. You can also take great pictures at St. Malo chapel (which unfortunately is not currently open to the public, but you can take photos from the road).

Rocky Mountain National Park outside of Estes Park (Fern Lake Pool is very low key, easy hike and beautiful).

The legendary Trail Ridge Road and 7 Highway (very scenic).

The historic Stanley Hotel in Estes Park has great tours.

Thompson canyon is scenic.

Walk around Lily Lake on Highway 7. Follow that with lunch at the Bald Pate Inn. Make reservations in advance.

Fort Collins area:

Poudre Canyon. It is a beautiful drive, great breakfast at Glen Echo Resort and fine drive back via county road 27 to Masonville (the general store is fun). A lot of time driving in the car, but wonderful scenery.

White water rafting down the Poudre River or picnic along the Poudre.

Colorado Springs area: Garden of the Gods, Olympic Training Center, Wind Cave, Pike's Peak.

Denver: Museum of Nature and Science, Denver Art Museum (their cafe has an amazing lunch menu), Denver Zoo.

Day trips--West:
--Georgetown and Georgetown Loop RR
--Idaho Springs
--Rock Cut at Morrison Exit on I-70--its free although run down
--Red Rocks Amphitheatre and Morrison
--Mt. Falcon

Day Trips--Denver Metro:
--Any one of the fine museums/attractions
--Lunch/Dinner at the Buckhorn Exchange--oldest restaurant in CO
--Casa Bonita for the experience (how many places can you go with cliff divers inside the restaurant)

Day Trip: The Wild Animal Sanctuary, Keenesburg. And stop for breakfast or lunch at the Pepper Pod in Hudson, CO en route.

Awesome little location on quiet street next to good food and close enough to many of the Denver area's best sites: Downtown, Boulder, and not far from the foothills of the range. Lots of small town charm nearby too!

When we arrived, Parker met us at the gate and ushered us into her charming house filled with a great combo of comfort and beauty. She showed us around made certain we had everything we needed. One of the favorite parts of our stay was tagging along to the community garden to check out her plot and pick some veggies. We even were able to pull a few weeds! Because of Parker's generosity and kind spirit, she exceeded all our expectations. Not only would we stay here again, we feel like we made a friend!
