From the start, Emmanuel was very nice. He allowed us to check in around 7pm, instead of 3pm. This helped us a great deal. He was also fluent in both English and French so this was also very helpful. The location is very convenient because we could go downtown very quickly using transit. It is a safe neighbourhood. He offered us coffee in the morning and was overall a very nice guy.
We had a great stay in Montreal. Emmanuel is a good host replies quickly if needed, and is accommodating. You have access to the kitchen which is nice. The bedroom where we stayed is nice but the mattress is very hard. The train is about a 5-10 min walk and the bus station is right by the house. An uber ride into the city is about 10 min and If you're adventurous enough the city is about a 30 min ish walk.
My husband and I arrived after midnight and Emmanuel was super accommodating. We had a large car which made street parking difficult and Emmanuel was super kind, he moved his car from his personal, private spot for us and parked his on the street. We had to get up very early so we went to bed right away and left by 8:30am. Emmanuel was super kind and we suggest for others to stay at his home
Enjoyed our stay here! The biggest positive I have is the host-Emmanuel is very communicative and accommodating! From the get-go he worked with my inability to speak any French, and allowed us to check in 2 hours early, on account of our early arrival to the city. As for the room flat itself-the common areas are very nice and clean, and the kitchen is at your disposal, though we did not take advantage of this. The room itself is also very tidy and a good size--it had plenty of room for our two giant hiking backpacks, plus two days worth of shopping with plenty of room to still navigate. There is, however, no TV in the room as the pictures suggest, which was a disappointment considering my boyfriend and I hadn't had a TV in 3 months and we were looking forward to watching it one night. The location is good-it's out of town, but a quick and easy uber to downtown Montreal (~CAN$12) and there are shops nearby for basic needs, as well as a green grocer, which was nice. For some of the negatives--which I want to emphasize are small--my boyfriend did say that his towel provided seemed a bit damp/not as clean as he'd have liked. Furthermore, there was some issue with the electricity of just the lounge area, which meant we had no wifi for the first ~5 hours in the BnB. However, back to Emmanuel, he solved this as soon as he was available, and obviously you can't always control issues like that, so it more speaks to his positives as a host! We had a great stay and felt incredibly welcome the whole time!
