Book the queen bed in a traditional Canadian TEEPEE - SHARED hostel-style in our urban food forest @madewithloveurbanfarm a healthy COVID isolating community. Engage in temperate permaculture. Perfectly cozy camping with towels, bedding & candlelight fire pit. Shared bath, organic dinner & breakfast with French-press coffee, farm eggs & fruit in the main house "wireless cafe" steps away. Soak in the chlorine free alkaline mineral hot tub & natural pool along the waterfront at McArthur Island.

The space
This bedroom is a traditional TIPI BEDROOM with candlelight firepit, 2 real single beds and one queen size bed each rented separately or together. Ideal for single travelers, hostel style, with other traveler roommates, but also for a few friends or a couple visiting Kamloops and wanting to connect with an organic community vibe. Beds are made up appropriately for each season, with light sheets and duvets, cool in the shady trees in summer and with winter sleeping bags and hot water bottles that really keep everyone cozy while camping in the ice and snow! Book the queen bed for 1 or 2 guests (book 3 guests to add one single bed) as a shared room hostel stay; use the private tipi stay listing to book both single beds for 4 guests, if available.

Join us for Farm Table dinners each evening if your timing is right. Wander through the gardens or across the wildlife wetlands to the nature trails along the Thompson River at McArthur Park. See wild deer, beaver, heron, marmots, ducks, geese, eagles, hawks and more on the waterfront. White sand riverfront beach 5 minute walk away! At Made with Love Urban Farm, we practice Biodynamic Permaculture and have many fruit and nut trees, berry bushes, greens, mushrooms, flowers and herbs.

Join us in the main house kitchen to learn about nutritional healing, fermentation and whole food cooking. Meditate in the gardens, soak in the hot tub or dig in with our international volunteers to get your hands in the dirt to learn about edible and medicinal plants, wild foraging and permaculture plantings. Beautiful local hiking, paddling, and twice weekly farmers' market, May-October. Remember to book a Sagebrush Picnic during your stay and join us on some real Canadian Outdoor Adventures. Please ask us about a guided nature walk, a Farm to Table Cooking Class Dinner, Herb-drying or Jam-making workshops or ski shuttle service - we are only 25 mins from Harper Mountain and 45 mins from Sun Peaks Lodge!

Made with Love Urban Farm is a sustainable eco community - everything here is a little bit different. We like our life as natural as we can get it, we clean with baking soda and vinegar, we use unscented natural laundry soap and recycle, repair, reuse or upcycle everything we can to keep garbage out of our landfills and consume as little as possible. Our food is made with tons of vegetables and our community loves essential oils, flowers and herbs, but loathes cigarettes, synthetic perfume & fragrance. Our urban organic food forest farm hosts international volunteers, permaculture interns, guests and our family of six - on half a riverside acre in a suburban neighbourhood in the city of Kamloops with free range bunny Sophia, the wonder chicken Beyonce and her four chicks & a small dog named Bella running around our fruit tree gardens to entertain you.

Please ask us about a more upscale cottage bedroom or treehouse and we may be able to accommodate your request. Click on the picture of Colin & Alexandra to see all our listings!

This is an active URBAN farm, led by a family of 4 - A handcrafted conscious community of 6 -18 individuals, with new people flowing in and out: interns, visitors and guests sharing the main house, tipi, treehouse and cottage on our land. Our property is in the city of Kamloops, a secluded riverfront half acre which feels way bigger and more wild. We have a small dog named Bella (hypoallergenic), a lovely wandering hen named Beyonce who has successfully raised the first generation of Seven Real Canadian Climbing Chickens, and Sophia our free range bunny. We are looking for more self directed, enthusiastic, peaceful, playful, engaged beings to join us and maximize how much food we can grow and preserve to feed ourselves abundantly on a small footprint organically in a food forest model.

At present we could use more people with experience with insulating and finishing woodwork for the recycled treehouse. Fall & winter season is also tons of jam-making, herb drying, fermenting, preserving. In Autumn, weekends are often our crazy busy 12 hour plus days. Some of us choose to start at 3 am with the baking crew making muffins, so be prepared for some very early mornings if you want to join in. Those with beautiful handwriting are important in our jam making season for hand-labelling jars and bottles for our community pantry. Spring is coming and soon we will be in active weeding, pruning & mulching mode, harvesting the first herbs for preserves and drying for our flower fairy blend herbal tea mix. Daily tasks are cleaning, laundry, weeding, raking and garden work, preserving, labelling, baking, cooking, wood/basket weaving, spring clean up.

Guest access
Guests can walk a few paces from their front tipi door to the Great Room and beyond to our awesome clothing-optional chill space on the brick patio with copper crystal pool and mineral hot tub. All entirely reclaimed, recovered and repurposed, in the summer you'll find large tables for outdoor dining, BBQ, lounge chairs and a naturalized country garden surrounding the aqua green alkaline pool. Ducks and deer play in the estuary below and the riverbank is filled with delicious blackcurrants and wild cherries, herbs, tomatoes and squashes in season. There is a steep path down to the water for canoes, kayaks and paddle boarders to access the main Thompson River in the spring season. In the main house, you'll find a great community room with tons of instruments and huge farm tables for family-style meals. You are welcome to join us for dinner if your timing is right!

Other things to note
Wireless internet is limited and is shut down for bedtime between 10pm and 8am and before dinner between 5pm and 7pm.
Main house, pool and hot tub are closed for the night at 10pm.
Pool deck / Hot Tub are clothing optional with nude swimming and sunbathing. All guests and community are comfortable with natural nudity.

COVID-19 update below. One great big happy family at Made with Love Urban Farm & Artisan Food Company. A stay in our organic food forest gardens will leave you feeling warm and welcome, reflective, recharged and peaceful. And if you choose to join us over at the main house, thankful for the creative chaos and pleasantly well nourished. People come from around the globe to gather in the main house great room, share slow food, farm-to-table and relax around our clothing optional copper crystal alkaline pool to rest in the sun and take a dip in the healing mineral waters; they come here as guests and leave us as friends. Our international collaborative community looks forward to welcoming you to visit our mature temperate permaculture food forest along the wildlife wetlands in the unceded traditional territory of Tk'emlúps te Secwe̓pemc in Kamloops, BC Canada. *COVID-19 Update. As the global health authorities are requesting, we are self isolating on the property to stay healthy. For the time of this global pandemic, we are serving meals open air on the pool deck and have many socially distanced tables set up so guests can take as much personal space as they would like. Booking a "farm table gathering" means your group is the only guest crew on the property hosted by our semi-permanent community of ten at the main house. If you would like to join us in the main house, our minimum stay is 14 days. Alexandra is a gifted natural healer, who is keeping everyone well with nutritional and herbal healing in all our daily nourishment. If you choose to book in with us expect to be part of a tribe of peaceful, playful, happy engaged collaborative beings, making music, weeding, digging and planting gardens, sharing beautiful food and cleaning our bodies, clothes & home with baking soda, vinegar, essential oils and hot soapy water which kills COVID-19 before it gets near our lungs. Our focus is keeping everyone healthy as we nestle in to weather this spectacularly awe-inspiring planetary storm together. Made with Love urban farm is LGBTQ2S friendly, poly-curious, eco collective; collaborative partners, isolated in community, learning together how to build new tribe. We practice permaculture, compassionate communication, (NVC) empathy, radical intimacy, being yoga, active meditation and teach only Love. If we are your peeps, come live, laugh, work and play with us.
