We had a mixed experience in Dora's place. Communication was via her daughter Angela, resident in the USA, and was really good. Angela was available throughout via messaging and happy to answer all questions and interpret for her mum. The welcome was warm, and Dora had some groceries and a freshly baked cake ready for us. She arranged for the apartment to be cleaned twice during our stay, at no extra cost to us, which was great. However, the description of the house was not entirely accurate. Only a couple of days before our departure we were told that the windows in the attic must not be opened. This basically meant that we couldn't use one of the bedrooms as it got extremely hot in there, and the second shower&toilet had no ventilation. The fan provided is pretty useless in a suffocating room. The air condition is only available in the kitchen-living area and it does not reach the attic at all. Our 10 and 13 year old children had to sleep together on the sofa-bed in the open plan kitchen-living space. There's so little space between the hand basin and the shower cubicle that getting in and out is very much a squeeze, but this is not obvious from the pictures. It was impossible to help the children wash for example as the sink is right in front of the shower door. One side of the balcony overlooks the huge car park of Thalatta camp (the other side has a nice view), but this not mentioned at all in the description. There were also quite a few things that needed repairing; the tap in the kitchen was very wobbly, the bottom panel of the kitchen cupboards was held in place by a piece of wood and came loose every time your feet touched it while preparing food, the hooks on the bedroom wall came off every time we hanged a towel, the little curtain above the kitchen window was very poorly fitted and came undone if you attempted to open the window. The shower was badly blocked and we had to get a drain opener to clean it. During our stay, a wall socket in the kitchen came off the wall when we unplugged the toaster. The fly-net above the bed fell off the ceiling when we tried to fold the sides as Dora showed us. We informed the host and were told not to worry and that they'd have them fixed later. We had one accident where my daughter slipped and fell on the wet balcony and dropped a dinner plate. We couldn't possibly find the same so we got another kitchen item as a gift as we wanted to put something back. On our last day we had a bit of a shock; we were asked to pay 50 Euros for the damages caused to the house. Considering the standard of some fittings and the inaccurate description of the apartment, this was very disappointing and unpleasant for...
