Welcome to Laurel Farm, a quiet, pastoral and mountain view farm in the beautiful Jerome Prairie Valley. We're located in the Rogue Valley of southern Oregon, where outdoor activities, the arts, and wineries reign. We're minutes off Hwy 199 and 20 minutes from I-5 and Grants Pass. You'll stay in our "Creamery Guesthouse" located in the 1940's iconic dairy barn. This historic building's guesthouse has one large bedroom, a multi purpose room, and one bathroom. A relaxing place to hang your hat!
The large bedroom has a king size bed, couch, dresser and rocking chair. It's a room that's meant to lounge around in. The bath is off the bedroom and has a tiled walk-in shower. There is a closet in the hallway that leads to the multi purpose room. There you will enjoy a comfy sofa, table and chairs, and some 'kitchen' amenities. A coffee maker, hot water pot, toaster oven, microwave and small refrigerator allow you to prepare simple meals to enjoy. Coffee, tea, and some snacks are provided to get you started on your stay. A neighborhood walking trail is right out the back gate.
Guests are welcome to walk about the farm. We ask that you close all gates that you open and respect our privacy. There are many garden areas and you are welcome to look, but not pick.
Interaction with guests
We will check you in and check you out. We'll be glad to answer any questions you may have. A folder of maps, restaurants, and other activities is provided in the Guesthouse. This is a working farm, with gardens, livestock, an apiary, and cats and a dog. "Farm" activities will take place while you are here.
Other things to note
Our location puts you within reasonable driving distances of some of southern Oregon's best vacation activities. We are 1.5 hours from the coast through the majestic Redwoods, 1 hour from the Cave's National Park, 1 hour from historic Jacksonville and the Britt Music Festival, 20 minutes from wineries in the Applegate Valley, and 1.5 hours from Ashland's famous Shakespeare Theatre. Crater Lake is 2.5 hours away. And, you're only 15 minutes from all the happenings in Grants Pass!
We have stated the basic rules below, but there is a written rental agreement that must be signed upon your arrival and before check in. If you would like a copy of this agreement emailed to you prior to your stay we will be happy to do that. We want your stay to be enjoyable and safe.
CHECK-IN TIME IS AFTER 3:00 P.M. PST and NO LATER THAN 9 PM. CHECK OUT TIME IS 12:00 PST. NO early check-ins or late departures. The host will meet the renter upon arrival and check-in. The key to the guesthouse will be provided at check-in.
QUIET TIME is from 9 PM to 8 AM.
PARKING is allowed in designated area only.
Guest Occupancy is four total. Daytime guests are allowed, no overnight guests of renter.
CHILDREN: This property is not childproof. There are unfenced water features, livestock, farm machinery, stairs, breakable objects, plants, etc. If children do come they MUST be supervised closely and guests take full responsibility for their safety and any damage that may occur. Host must be contacted for consideration of children.
This is a NON-SMOKING property. Renters must be non-smokers. No vaping or marijuana in any form is allowed on the premises. Smoking will result in the loss of the damage deposit and the renter’s stay will be terminated.
PETS are not permitted under any conditions.
No vacationing students or singles under 25 years of age unless accompanied by an adult guardian or parent.
Cleaning & Security Fees: There is a non-refundable cleaning fee of $25.00. The cleaning fee does not cover excessive messes, which will be charged a minimum of $25 per hour to clean.
$100.00 is required as a security/damage deposit and is fully refundable within 14 days of departure provided there is no breach of contract and the following conditions are met.
REPAIRS AND DAMAGES. RENTER acknowledges that unless OWNER is notified at check-in of any damage or cleaning concerns, then thereafter, all damages or concerns to the property during the occupancy will be RENTER’S responsibility and must be reported to OWNER and paid prior to departure.
OWNER is not responsible for compensation of any part of rent, due to failure of fixtures, appliances or utilities resulting in short term inconveniences. All repairs will be attended to as soon as reasonably possible.
OWNER reserves the right to attend to farming duties, yard maintenance and animal husbandry as needed. Tractors and other large equipment may be in operation during the day. The use of chainsaw, trimmers, and other tools may be used at times during the day.
UPKEEP OF PREMISES. RENTER shall keep and maintain the premises in a clean and sanitary condition at all times.
FALSIFIED RESERVATIONS. Any reservation obtained under false pretense will be subject to forfeiture of advanced payment, deposit, and/or rental money. The party will not be permitted to check-in.
ALL AREAS such as OWNERS personal storage areas, shop, barns, sheds, pool, fields, gardens, pastures and irrigation canal are exempt from this lease agreement and are off limits to the RENTER. Entry into these areas is cause for immediate termination and RENTER will be charged for damage and/or missing items.
INDEMNITY. The RENTER agrees to release and indemnify the OWNER from and against all liability, should anyone be injured upon the premises during the stay, resulting from any cause whatsoever, except in the case of personal injury caused by the negligent act of the OWNER.
My husband and I enjoy living and working the farm. Raising our own food, the apiary, and our animals bring us joy. Riding horses and trail riding is my retirement passion. We enjoy sharing the life we love and meeting people from all walks of life. Come share our farm life!
