This residence within a horse barn is a secluded property near Stanton, Kentucky. It is less than twenty miles to major attractions such as Natural Bridge, the Red River Gorge and the Daniel Boone National Forest; Cave Run Lake and Broke Leg Falls are within an hour's drive. It is the ideal spot to get away from the city and enjoy some of the most beautiful scenery in Kentucky. Pets considered upon request.
This is a unique opportunity to bring your own horses. I have three paddocks with excellent grass in the summer months, two with a constant supply of fresh water, and three available stalls.
You will have the entire barn, with the apartment upstairs and finished office space/spare bedroom/laundry room/half bath downstairs. There's plenty of space outside for parking a trailer, boat, or other large vehicles. There may be horses in one of the paddocks and, if so, someone will be on the property to care for the horses once or twice a day, who may access the downstairs barn area.
Interaction with guests
I will meet you personally at check-in and be available by phone during your stay.
Other things to note
The internet comes through a Verizon "mifi" device. This means that you have unlimited wireless internet, but it is not as fast as a broadband connection. The signal can be weaker due to cloudy weather or other conditions. Please note that there is no television. Your own cell phone might not have good reception inside the residence, depending on your phone carrier. There is a house phone for your use with free, unlimited calls to anywhere in the world.
This property is listed as unsuitable for children because the loft is only a safe sleeping space for teenagers or adults—it has no guard rail—but children who would sleep on the couch or babies who would sleep upstairs near you are welcome. There is a bassinet for babies under one year old, and the ladder to the loft can be removed when not in use so younger children can't climb up.
Please message me concerning extra charges for bringing horses. It is your responsibility to make sure the fences meet safe requirements for your horses when you arrive—they are a mix of three-board fence and three-strand Electrobraid through the creek line at the back of the property.
