Our newest nightly rental will be available the first part of July. With a wrap around deck that is suspended over a hillside looking at Turnagain Arm , the view is stunning! Relax in our 1 bedroom, with full bathroom (shower) and sitting area, new queen size pull out couch, microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker and table with stools. Watch the eagles and ravens and you may even see beluga whales, seals, moose, coyotes, and an occasional bear!
If you are an early riser you can enjoy spectacular sunrises while you have your coffee in our 287 sq. ft. "nest". It has 3 rooms consisting of a bedroom, bath, and a sitting/kitchenette area. While there is no cooking stove, we have a microwave, coffee maker, toaster, sink and small fridge. We also have a queen size sleeper couch that when pulled out is a very snug fit in the sitting/kitchen area. The Ravens Nest will accommodate 4, but is better suited for 2-3 adults or a couple with 2 children. With a cafe height table, you can enjoy your meals or work on your laptop. We also have a full wrap around deck that provides exquisite views as you are suspended over a hillside looking at scenic Turnagain Arm. Trails are a 5 minute walk from us, and historic downtown Hope is a 10 minute walk. There you will find cafes, coffee shops, library, museum and gift shop. Another mile up the road gives you a small store, post office and other businesses. If you are not an outdoor enthusiast, enjoy the constantly changing face of Turnagain Arm ( which boasts the 2nd highest tides in the world) and the majestic mountain views from inside your cozy getaway!
The Ravens Nest is a second story 3 room space requiring steps to enter. The lower level is for the utilities, so you will be the only people who occupy this building. We have a shared driveway with our other Bed & Breakfast but there is plenty of parking available. It is a keyed entry for your privacy.
Interaction with guests
My husband and I are usually here, but should we have to leave we are available by phone and your co-host Tahneta is available. She is our daughter and this is a family run business.
Other things to note
If you are from out of state be aware that the temperatures vary greatly. It can be warm enough for sleeveless shirts for a week and then the weather changes and you need coat and gloves. The key to enjoying yourself is be prepared for anything in Alaska!
While the deck has full railings, you are on the second story and need to exercise caution. Especially if children are present.
