Live like a New Yorker in the best Downtown neighborhood this city has to offer.
Center of it all - trendy restaurants, busiest happy hours, fanciest cocktails, historic Tompkins square park, unique shops. Feel at home in New York City's hippest downtown neighborhood. Super close to several subways and express buses, making it convenient to get to any place you want to go.
100% the BEST LOCATION!
Of all the places I've lived in New York City, the East Village is my absolute favorite neighborhood! Within 5 minutes, you can walk to an endless number of restaurants, comedy clubs, shows, bars, music venues, coffee shops, shopping, 24-hour delis/pharmacies/laundry and 24-hour dining options as well (Veselka is a classic for late night pierogis).
Not only is this the absolute best neighborhood in New York City because of convenience to everything, but we also happen to be on the best street right in the center of the East Village, perfectly placed close to every subway line. Our street is a bit more quiet and charming than all the others and happens to have the best bar (ask me about it) and restaurants! It doesn't get any better. You will absolutely love it and feel right at home.
Also please note that it's a very safe neighborhood no matter what time you are out! I have lived in the East Village for a decade and as female out by herself, have never felt unsafe. Remember, there are always many people around so you are never alone.
The Building: A six story pre-war walk-up built in the early 1900s. Classic New York building with marble stairs (no elevator), and original details like arches, tiled flooring in the entryway, exposed brick and original hardwood floors throughout the units. You will be walking up four flights of stairs and you will probably be happy about this extra free exercise after all the amazing food you will eat. Neighbors range from NYU students, a rockstar, and older tenants.
The Apartment: Classic New York City apartment! Original exposed brick walls in every room, hardwood floors throughout. The living room is considered large for NYC standards and the apartment gets amazing light, also rare for NYC apartments. One of my favorite things about this apartment besides the light and the brick, is that it faces the back of the building where there are gardens and therefore is very quiet! It’s a perfect juxtaposition because outside of the building it is usually busy and can be loud, lots of restaurants and people at all times. But inside the home, you can relax peacefully and listen to birds chirping. You will be sharing the apartment with other travelers from around the world!
The Bedroom: The room is private and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. There is a Queen bed with new sheets, a Samsung Smart TV mounted on the wall with Netflix and Amazon Video ready to go, a huge closet (for NYC standards) to hang all your clothes and spread out and the room has a lock on the door from the inside. There is, of course, heat in the winter (it is automatic in NYC but you will never be cold) and there is a Smart Air Conditioner in the window. The room also has a full-length mirror (very important for us girls when we get ready!)

Interaction with guests
Always available by phone - you can reach me anytime by messaging me. I'm always happy to help you. You won't see me much in person.
Other things to note
• I am a *SUPERHOST*, which means that I always go out of my way to ensure you have a great experience. I'm always available by message and eager to help you. I've had guests call me at 2 in the morning to get my help with directions when they were stuck on the subway. I love helping others (that's why I'm a nurse!) so don't hesitate to ask me. That's what I'm here for.
• This is part of a 3 bedroom apartment and 95% of the time nobody even sees anyone else in the apartment. This is totally normal when you're living in New York because - 1) New Yorkers have busy schedules (work, dinners, gym) and are never home. 2) There is so much to do all the time that no one stays in and 3) There is rarely anyone in the living room or kitchen because why watch tv or cook when you're in the best restaurant and entertainment district in the world?
Please note that you will be sharing the apartment with other Airbnb guests and that there is no elevator! The apartment is 4 flights up!
No shoes inside please. Take them off before or after you enter the apartment and leave them in the apartment hallway. You may also carry them to your room and leave them there if you prefer. But please do not walk inside the apartment with your shoes on. I try to keep it as clean as possible for everyones benefit.
Absolutely no unregistered or overnight guests without prior approval and payment.
Please try to stick to the correct check in and check out time. (Check out by 10am, check-in after 4pm). There are many things that go into preparing the room and apartment and it takes several people to get it ready for you. I usually have guests back to back so there are only a few hours left for cleaning services, restocking supplies, laundry, key exchange, etc.
There is absolutely no smoking in the apartment. If you are a smoker, you are free to go outside or enjoy a cigarette on the beautiful rooftop.
Please do not lose the keys as they are difficult to replace. The electronic key for the building doors can only be provided from management (and they are very strict with how many they give out). If you lose the keys, you will be responsible for the $500 fee to replace them so do not lose the keys!!!
This is a shared apartment space so please be mindful of others, especially in terms of noise and cleaning up after yourself, as well as not leaving anything behind in the bathroom or kitchen.
Please note that at this time, Airbnb does not collect taxes on behalf of hosts in New York City and there is no efficient way to add or separate the taxes from your total payment. The occupancy taxes are 15% of your total and the best way to pay them is by (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN). Airbnb is better at explaining this so feel free to contact them with any questions.
Please DO NOT disturb the neighbors for any reason at any time. In case of emergency or any other reason, only contact me or Airbnb.
Please TURN OFF the air conditioners and lights when you are not in the apartment.
If you are going to cooking, please ask me to show you how to use the kitchen and appliances first.
Please make sure to turn off the gas in the kitchen and double check that you have turned everything off.
Please do not open any of the windows! If you want fresh air, turn on the "fan" on the air conditioner to let filtered air in. This is NYC and the air is not "fresh", but polluted. Opening windows causes too much dust inside the apartment requiring additional cleaning. In addition, many of the windows have a window A/C unit. If you open the window, the A/C will fall out so please leave the windows closed.

I'm a nurse living in NYC for over 20 years! There is no place like New York and I hope you experience it's unique energy too.
I genuinely love hosting and meeting all my amazing guests. However, it's completely up to you how much we interact. I'll check in via message and help guide you as much or as little as you need.
