Miguel's apartment suited us perfectly for our 5 night stay in Lisbon. The apartment is spotlessly clean, well equipped, modern and well located . On top of this is the fact that it is quiet! Easy walking distance to major transport links and many of the major attractions. Our welcome from Miguel's representative, Fatima was warm and helpful. The apartment is up a steep hill, but don't let this worry you. We would walk to most places and get a über home. At a cost of 4 or 5 euros it was for us the best way home although walking home was not a problem when we did it. I would not hesitate to stay again at Miguel's.

Beautiful, clean apartment, well equipped and comfortable! Miguel was very clear in communication and the place is as described in the photos. Very close to center of lisbon in a quieter neighborhood up a bit of a hill.

Don't always go by first impressions. Initially, the area seemed a bit seedy with one corner in particular being a point of refernce for us and affectionately called pimp corner. There was no need for alarm with a mix of locals and tourists about and it is quickly apparent that this is sadly an area under rapid gentrification. One morning, I watched from the window as a friendly elderly lady tried her little English with two young travelers. Due to renovations in the building and next door, the entry stairs are very dusty and dirty but this does not reflect the new, clean apartment within. It is just out of the main tourist areas but an easy walk (if you call the hilly terrain of Lisbon easy). We caught ubers a few times (super easy) but walked everywhere and I was travelling with my daughter and 83 year old mother. The stairs are steep to the second floor but not as steep as some apartments I've stayed in. It can be a bit noisey but relative to other cities and parts of Lisbon, it's not too bad. There is a terrific cafe/bar/restaurant (great coffee) called O corvo and next door to the cafe, two artisan workshops with one being a contemporary ceramics studio with works for sale. Be warned the taxi from the airport initially refused to drive us to the door but I pointed to my elderly mother and the driver reluctantly looped up and around and got us to the door. Where the driver initally wanted to leave us meant walking up a lot of stairs with luggage. An uber driver told us they don't like taking their old cars up the hills. I would highly recommend staying here.

Miguel's apartment is in a central location. It's a beautifully renovated unit inside an older building. The apartment had everything we needed except an AC or fan unit. Since Portugal is really warm in the summer months this was a big issue for us. We had to keep the windows open which meant we got bitten by all the bugs and bothered by excessive noise on the streets. This building being older meant we could only take showers one at a time and wait for hot water to refill. This was a little inconvenience we didn't know about until taking a cold shower. Other than that our stay was pretty good and our host Miguel was pretty accessible by phone or email when we had any questions.
