The Byre is a fully fitted single story, apartment built of traditional Sussex pebble, forming a wing of a converted barn. Situated in a lovely rural location close to the South Downs National Park but still accessible to main roads leading to Eastbourne, Lewes, Brighton and Tunbridge Wells. The apartment shares a main entrance and hallway with the main barn but is otherwise self-contained. Triple glazed French doors open onto a pretty shared courtyard garden with pond.

Other things to note

This is a fantastic private one bedroom house. We had private use of the garden and everything was very clean and comfortable. If you have a car then it's very close to lots of walks and the cost. Brilliant if you are looking for a quiet country stay. Alan was very accommodating and welcoming.

Nice quiet location, great hosts and lovely accommodation. We would definitely like to stay again, so much to do in the surrounding area. The accommodation has everything you need for a self catering holiday for 2.

We had a wonderful stay in the Annex, Alan and Tessa were warm and helpful hosts. They were very flexible with our arrival and departure times and gave great advice for local pubs and things to do. Their welcome pack is full of local knowledge and advice. The Annex itself is lovely, light, cozy and clean. It has everything you need for your stay. Our favourite bit was the beautiful walled garden that we were told was just for us! Such a relaxing stay, thank you very much Alan and Tessa! Best wishes, Robyn

Alan and Samantha have been hosting people for a long time though we were their first Airbnb guests. The barn is lovely with a private walled garden - photos don't do it justice. It's easy to find on (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) maps and about 2 miles from a Waitrose/ Tesco so super convenient - no need to lug large amounts of groceries. There are a lot of books with walking routes (recommend the Sussex 55) and A&S are great with recommendations. Secluded and comfortable and easy drive to Eastbourne, beachy head, birling gap etc.
