Wonderful updated historic homestead house, built upon a rock cliff above South St Vrain Creek. Rock and log construction, walls of windows, hardwood floors and antique furnishing provide a one of kind Rocky Mountain experience. Enjoy aspen groves, views of the high peaks, plus simple access to the surrounding wilderness trails and back roads.

The space

King size bed in main bedroom, 2 double bed futons in the loft , microwave, gas range/oven, refrigerator, toaster, coffee maker, utensils, clawfoot bathtub, energy efficient wood stove/fireplace, propane heaters, electric floorboard heating, clothes washer/clothes dryer and much more

Guest access

The guests can access the main house and the land. the second cabin and garage/barn are off limits

Interaction with guests

I will meet every guest when they arrive and explain how to enjoy a safe getaway while staying here. According to the Nature Conservancy study we are located in a semi-pristine wilderness almost 9000 ft above sea level. This is the home of bear, mountain lion, moose, elk, bobcat, martin, otters, and many other species. This is a place for wilderness lovers. No hunting allowed.

Other things to note

No all terrain vehicles or dirt bikes allowed on this property. No firearms or any weapons allowed. There is no cell phone reception in the area! There is a land line in the house that guests can use for local calls. There is good wifi, so that is your best option for communicating.

I was looking for a retreat for some nature and solitude where I could do some deep work. This did not disappoint. It was so invigorating just to walk out and be in nature. Each day I saw the local moose family on my breaks. I would always look forward to a drive to Nederland because the amazing scenic beauty on the Peak to Peak Highway.
