STAY AWAY. Condescending and unhelpful host. Musty smell in certain areas. We used up the roll of toilet paper and kindly asked for more and we were essentially told that it's not their responsibility to provide toilet paper. That if we wanted that type of service we could've…
Response from Gene:
As explained in great detail to Corey - we provide essential starter kit of paper products at the home. For anything above that (especially for two guests staying three nights) there is a store across the street. This is simply his retaliatory review for saying no to him. The duplex is very clean, thank you. Yes, parking is free. I would imagine that’s what he really wants, everything to be free. It isn’t.
GREAT location; when Gene says, "Motown adjacent," the place is lit-er-ally one block from the Motown Museum (we went 2x). The place is a short ride to anywhere in Detroit. Neighbors were really cool. Comfy and clean place. We will definitely be back. LOVED Detroit.
House is clean and amenities are enough to live by. Neighborhood is unsafe as there were shady activities going on. Gene is terribly rude and condescending when you bring concerns to his attention as intimated by other guest as well. Had an issue where I misplaced keys (later…
Response from Gene:
Ony has a creative mind for reviews, I will give him that. If he doesn’t want to hear about his dad he shouldn’t have mentioned mine first. He locked himself out on second day, forcing my team to travel one hour each way to save him. When I asked for service fee to compensate team member, he declined. He does not pay attention: we have hamper in bath. We have an irionong board instead of the beds where he ruined two sets of sheets. Yes, I said two. I am a busy, experienced, focused host with homes throughout the world - the last thing I need is to babysit people like this. He does not understand how it is the reviews that will ultimately lock him out. And now, there are two that hosts can consider before accepting him into homes again. Ony is not welcome back, ever.
