The "Cottage in the Ville," a charming, newly remodeled (April 2016) home away from home cottage, comfortably sleeps six and has two bedrooms. Just two hours south of St. Louis, MO, our beautifully decorated cottage, near the crystal clear Black River, is the perfect destination to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life. The “Cottage in the Ville” sits on two beautifully manicured flat acres of land with plenty of room to roam.

Battle of Pilot Knob State Historical Site
The site’s open, grassy fields include the fort’s old earthworks, two Confederate burial trenches, a visitor center with a story of the battle and its context within the Civil War.
Ste. Genevieve Founded in 1735, it is the oldest permanent European settlement in the State of Missouri. St. Genevieve’s Historic District contains 29 types of architecture.
Johnson’s Shut-Ins Play in the shallows of the East Fork of the Black River. Johnson’s Shut-Ins State Park has pretty picnic areas, Ozark landscapes, natural places to swim and great campsites.
Elephant Rocks State Park The elephant rocks, which were formed from 1.5 billion year old granite, are giant boulders that stand end-to-end like a train of circus elephants.

In building a Country Home that our family would want to stay in, we've thought of the creature comforts that make the difference between just a weekend in the country and a memorable experience.
Included at the Cottage at the Ville are: • Master bedroom with queen bed, front bedroom with bunk bed (full over full), and a twin 4 poster bed. • Living room has a queen sleeper sofa for additional guest. • Dishwasher • Full bathroom • Fully equipped kitchen • All linens and towels • Enclosed back porch with dart board and table and chairs for extra dining area • Covered front porch • Central heating and cooling • Fireplace • Small kitchen appliances (coffee maker, mixer, microwave) • Household appliance including washer and dryer (BYO detergent) and vacuum • Ceiling fans in all roooms • 48” at screen TV with satellite and DVD player (BYO movies) • Outdoor amenities include fire pit with chairs, Weber BBQ grill, and hammock • Hammock with pillow • Horseshoe pits with horseshoes • Daily trash collection • Keyless entry • Float trips in canoes, rafts, tubes or kayaks can be arranged at time of scheduling your reservation. For your outdoor enjoyment you will find 2 hammocks, one with a pillow. We also provide a washers game and a corn hole or bags game.
You will find grilling utensils in the kitchen for the Weber Grill that is provided near the picnic table.

Lighters and marshmallow roasting sticks can be found on the back porch in the copper bucket.

For a minimal fee more firewood and charcoal can be made available to you if you find that you run out before your stay has ended. Please give your hostess Tina a call and she will make sure that all your needs are met.
Interaction with guests
Our staff can be available and we will do everything we can to ensure you have a great stay, otherwise we will not disturb you, unless you have a request.
Other things to note
If you find that you have additional guest that are interested in pitching a tent or even parking a small camper or RV that can be arranged for a small fee. We are equipped for all hook ups for such campers and RVs. Leave a note or call your hostess Tina for more information.
