My place is close to Santiago Market with the park and the church and close to the house of Catherwood. In the Santiago Park each Tuesday night a big band is playing and people go to dance. Santiago has several art galleries. You can eat nice in the Market or the restaurants, there are some pharmacies, a supermarket, a cinema, a few bakeries and some bars. Santiago is a neighborhood in the Historic center and it is a 1000 meter walk (12 minutes) to the Plaza Grande with the cathedral.

The space
This is a small cute and comfortable townhouse with all modern commodities. It has a living area with sofa, cable TV, a separate kitchen with big fridge, micro wave, coffee machine, stove with oven, a bathroom with toilet, sink and a shower and hot and cold water. Upstairs is the bedroom with quality king size bed, closet and mini-split air-conditioner and a small balcony with 2 chairs and table.. There is non shared WiFi though all the house.

* Late check-ins after 9 pm are possible but will have an additional cost of 12 usd.

Neighbourhood highlights

The Historic center neighborhood Santiago is aside of the Plaza Grande the oldest neighborhood of Merida. It has great architecture, is full of culture and has a market for vegetable, fruit, meat etc. some restaurants and cantina's.
El Cardinal is a nice cantina bar in Santiago. Cafe Montejo offers great sandwiches and pizzas, aside of the Cinema is a nice bar called Vizcaina. Chi Cool in casa Catherwood offer vegetarian options. Some art-galleries are located in Santiago as is the Zoo. Santiago is great neighborhood to live, to explore or just to enjoy the relaxed atmosphere in the Santiago Parque. All major attractions of Merida are at walking distance.
