Great check-in experience
95% of recent guests gave the check-in process a 5-star rating.
My apartment is in a 1931 walk-up in Bushwick. It's bright, colorful and playful. The train station is right on the corner into Manhattan - but already in the center of one of the most vibrant neighborhoods in New York. I'm in walking distance to some of the best restaurants in New York, plus great bars, cafes and clubs. There's also plenty of great used book stores, record stores and thrift shops.

The space
The room is bright and spacious, freshly painted with high ceilings, a big closet, and small dresser. There is a desk with accessible outlets and USB ports. The room also comes with it's own mini-fridge. The common space is in decorating transition, a bit empty - but still clean and comfy. Coffee and tea are complimentary.

Guest access
You're welcome to use the kitchen to cook meals, and eat in the dining area. You can hang out in the living room as well - the only thing off limits is my bedroom.

Bushwick is a very New York mix of rich and poor. There are Michelin star restaurants and 99¢ stores. This neighborhood has a strong Puerto Rican heritage, tons of young artists and a more recent influx of the wealthy. The area is semi-industrial, with warehouses and also lots of cheap shopping. This is a busy neighborhood and can sometimes be loud - but I like it that way. It's alive!

I'm an artist and designer originally from New Orleans. I've lived in Bushwick, Brooklyn for almost 20 years. I love my neighborhood!
During your stay
If you need to know where to eat or what to do, I'd love to help you out. I'm less chatty in the morning before coffee, but after that I'd love to talk. I Definitely feel that a perk of Airbnb is meeting all kinds of people. In the evening if I'm in my room, it's probably better to text me than to knock, as I usually have headphones on.
