Our charming historic colonial is in a quiet and peaceful woodlands setting in Milton, the most serene part of Litchfield. Although extremely private, it is a quick drive to downtown Litchfield and hip Bantam with their quaint shops and wonderful restaurants. Wood stove, cathedral ceilings, french doors, comfortable indoors and out, outdoor shower, across from conservation land. Perfect for a weekend getaway or a week in the woods.
This is a salt box colonial. The colonial part dates back to 1861. Exposed beams and tilted wide board floors are all part of the experience. The Salt box added to the living room and added a garage with plenty of storage above the garage. The land around the home is private and secluded. Across the street are 46 acres of land conversation.
Guests have access to the whole home. We ask that personal items be left alone, the garage and space above the garage be kept private. However, there is a vacuum available if need be above the garage.
Interaction with guests
I generally leave guests alone, but will answer questions if need be.
- Wood stove experience necessary.

We are thrilled to have you stay in our home. Over the years improvements have been made to make this a perfect getaway. This is the kind of home that allows you to be comfortable inside or outside. The gardens are unique and the wildlife abounds. We even have some resident owls that compete for airtime at night.
Milton is what many call the quiet corner of Litchfield. There are state parks near, hiking trails at Mohawk State Forest, skiing at Mohawk during the winter, and access to the many lakes in the area.
It is truly a paradise. If you are seeking charm and privacy, there is no better place to stay. We call it God's acre for the serene energy here is abundant. And if you like an outdoor shower...Amazing
