It is unfortunate that your time with us was not well spent; most of your communication with us was overly positive and your group seemed satisfied.
With respect to the appliances (i.e. the kitchen top range on the third floor),: all our the appliances in the home are brand new, and previous guests had no issue till now; We suspect that stove in particular may have encountered some water damage - from the baby bathtub baths we noticed you giving your little on on top of it. We addressed this issue as soon as it was brought to our attention (note: the home is equipt with 3 stoves, so a replacement was already available)
The air conditioning was working , and in fact most guests prefer to have it lowered it because of its efficieny; when checking the vents, they were in fact closed.
We opted to stay on site one night (in the separate entrance basement) , to ensure you settled in well. We do not normally do this, but felt it would assist if any issues arouse; as one one person stayed - I am not sure what noises your referring to - nor the potential ghost you thought might have appeared.
My general feedback is this: our reviews have been overwhelmingly positive, and we try to make our guest feel at home; if there is something we can do to make your stay more enjoyable - tell us, so we can accommodate. A lack of transparency, will only make providing you with first class attention more difficult.
We stand by our earlier comments, that you treated our home very well & that other Airbnb hosts can expect similar treatment; better communication will make subsequent stays even better.
