This happy home has all you need for a relaxing retreat, family vacation, or remote work location. Walk to town via the footbridge in 25 minutes or along the Belfast Rail Trail. Relax in the garden or join a zoom meeting with our high-speed internet.

This coastal town is truly a gem, but if you’d like to explore further afield, it’s also a great base for day trips to Camden (30 minutes) or Acadia National Park (1.25 hours.)

Belfast celebrates diversity. We welcome guests from all backgrounds.

The space
The airy eat-in kitchen is perhaps the favorite room of the house. Windows let in lots of filtered light and a french door opens to perennial gardens and views down the valley. The kitchen comes fully equipped with a full-sized refrigerator and stove, microwave, coffee pot and kettle, toaster, and even a Ninja blender for your morning smoothie.

The cottage has two bedrooms, a loft with a luxurious queen bed and HDTV/DVD player and a second bedroom with two twin beds - and an additional trundle bed.

The cozy living room has a vaulted ceiling and Swedish enamel wood stove to warm chilly evenings or rainy days. One full bath with a claw foot tub great for soaking after a day of hiking or adventure. There is also a modern efficiency washer and dryer.

High-speed internet makes this location a great remote work spot.

Guest access
The cottage has a full fenced yard with gardens and parking for two vehicles.

Other things to note
The cottage has stairs at both entrances and to the loft bedroom. It has a brick hearth around the wood stove and open cupboards so may not be the best fit for families with toddlers.

The neighborhood of East Belfast, along the Passagassawakeag River (the Passy), is just a hop skip and a jump from town. Walk across the footbridge and take the boardwalk into town for dinner, ice cream or drinks. Check out Belfast’s many galleries, studios and shops. Or walk or bike upriver along the Belfast Rail Trail. There you might encounter bald eagles, loons, and occasionally a seal. The river is also a great place to kayak or canoe.

I moved to Belfast in the 90s when my kids were small because it's such a great place for families and community. The town is small but lively - with a strong arts scene and local food culture. Belfast is also very beautiful and offers easy access to hiking, biking, kayaking, bird watching. Now my kids are grown, I spend time in both Boston and Belfast. I'm grateful to be able to share my home with visitors so they have a chance to enjoy the area I love so much. During your stay, I'm available by phone and am happy to make recommendations for things to do.
